It's as if he's always in a state of just waking up, with foggy eyes and mused hair. He wanders through life as if in a dream and if nothing can possibly tear him from the throne of a kingdom he built. Immortal is a word reserved for fairytales but if that's the case then he's a walking story. With a thousand secrets under his skin and even more buried in some dark corner of his heart.

He's a monument of shattered diamond and fractured sunlight, monstrously beautiful but almost painful to look at. There's something devastating about a god being trapped in a human body. They never last long. And as eternal as they are seem to die younger than the rest. You'd never guess, though. Because looking at him now he's pure gold, even in a simple hoodie and jeans.

He watches the distant hills with eyes of amber and innocence, and tells me his dreams to be somewhere far, far away. The Earth is his to mold, but I seem to be the only one the realizes that. When he leaves he'll take my heart with him, and when he leaves he'll never see those distant blue mountains again, or the rolling grass fields.

He was meant for the skies and for the heavens. Small life is consumed by a flame like him. And as much as I try to fight the truth I'll always come out battered because he was crafted for something greater. There is nothing more devastating than knowing you've fallen in love with a god who will never remember the name they gave you.
