Manor Rosecleft had a history, an ancestory, a reputation, legacy, there were other words for it but it all meant the same, old.

Among alumni hailed presidents, CEOs, and corporate giants, but in graves lay innocent souls forever silenced, the estate was the gate between hellfire and eternal glory, a conundrum that those who reach the highest must've been pulled to their lowest, however flawed by the jackpot stake of misery or good fortune.

The children were clueless, blinded by the glare of crystal chandliers and lost in winding grand staircases, fooled that evil only lerks in the dark, when really it laced every corridor, succumbs open spaces.

It painted the walls, hung in the drapes, walked the halls along with them, to Mumsy and Daddy it was derby, breath may be lost, but it's all worth it in the end; as long as your horse crosses the finish line and doesn't end up dead.

The fatal flaw in this ideology, harmartia, or Achilles' heel, whatever you bother to call it; wasn't singular or a thing, a who or a where, but a them.

They were reincarnates, brothers bound by hevox and whispers to do wrong, spiteful in the sense they were molded in the hands of God himself.

They were successful because, in the eyes of humans, you'd never suspect that four young gentlemen were hiding blazing red skin and horns underneath, a notion that seemed to bring eyes wet with tears and stomachs acheing from laughing too hard at the stupidity of the mortals.
