CHAPTER TWO

(15 years later)

Ella's POV

"Ugh just 5 more minutes" I said while trying to make it stop, and of course going back to my dream. Just as I was about to drift off, I jerk up, remembering the beatings that I got just because I forgot to make dinner. I force myself from my bed and slowly walking towards the bathroom and heating up the shower.

I've decided on a simple mint coloured sweater and some light blue jeans...well it was a bit chilly in the morning. Taking my bag, I sprint to the kitchen and made breakfast before taking an apple and practically running out of the house while struggling to wear my white sneakers. I was late now.

I arrived a few minutes before the bell went off. I put my stuff in my locker and taking my books for.... let me see ugh maths, it's only Monday. Then two hands squeezed the living daylight out of me, taking me off guard.

"I've missed you" of course it's the one and only Avery, my best friend since forever. "you know it's not like we didn't see each other two days ago" I chuckled. She starts removing her hand, "well it feels like enternity" she pouted crossing her arms. Students started to clear the hall as the bell went off. " Okay, come on let's go to Mr. Clack's class before he gives us an earful". And we walk through the halls swinging our hands together not really caring the people that walked by giving us weird looks.

Walking home, slowly taking my time and recalling today's events. Me and Avery were late for only 3 minutes, and of course Mr. Clack didn't let that pass. But the rest of the day was a great one I guess. And you won't believe what happened.

(flashback)

We were currently finishing our meal, when Sophia walks into the cafeteria and walks right towards our table. "Ugh here we go again" I said quietly to Avery. And like every school, there will always be the pick me girl, with manicures and face full of make up. "What do you want now Sophia?" Avery questioned as the clicks of heels stops. "Well you better stop appearing in front of my boyfriend whore" she warned completely ignoring Avery and pointing the tips of her manicures at my face.

I was so done dealing with her bullshit and annoying pitched voice every single day. I slowly stood "Well I'm sorry, but I think your boyfriend does have good taste if he keeps staring at me" I replied her. Avery was now chocking on her drink, failing miserably to stop her laugh. Now the whole cafeteria was silent, some were hiding their laughs waiting what's going to happen next. "Well with that mouth of yours, I wouldn't be surprise that your parents left you" she fired back smirking.

Oh no you just clicked the wrong button...as I waste no time snatching Avery's juice from her hands and pouring it on top of the annoying being in front of me. The whole cafeteria burst out laughing at the sight of her while she stood there speechless. She runs towards the exit after recovering from her shock before adding a "Just you wait and see" and the clicks of the heels was gone.

(End of flashback)

A smile made it's way onto my face. Well I've always just endured her but I was at my limit. No one, I mean no one can talk about that. I was grateful that Charlotte and Bob took me in even though sometimes they would beat me if I did something wrong, even the slightest mistake such as forgot to do the chores. But they would apologize after saying they regretted it. I've always wondered who my parents are. One time when I tried to talk it out with Charlotte, she slapped me and said that I wasn't grateful enough and I've learned my lesson to never mention it in front of them. I was so focused that I didn't realize I bumped into someone and landing hard on my butt. Great.

"Oww.." as I rub my butt. The person offered his hand and said a quick sorry before walking off. Well let's just go, it's getting dark soon I said telling myself and I ran. But little did she know that there were something waiting for her there.

Leo's POV

I was on my way home after some business that Ace asked me to take care of. I was stinking and I need a shower. If you're wondering what business, it's just some small idiotic gang that stole some of our shipments. They must be tired of living thinking we won't notice. I was snapped out of my thoughts when a small figure bump into me.

I heard an "oww" from the ground. As I look down, there was a small girl with golden brown hair rubbing her butt. It's the same beautiful hair as my mother's. As I recalled the bad memory, I swiftly helped her up and said a quick sorry before walking off. Wondering what's Ethan gonna cook for dinner.
