think i can see the beach.
just don't look underneath."

"god, brandon. you scared the shit out of me." faye exclaimed

"you couldn't have gave a warning?"

"that was a warning. so, what are you two doing?" brandon smiled

"nothing," vinnie and faye replied smoothly at the same time

"that intense eye holding didn't seem like nothing."

faye breathed trying not to snap at him and make them seem even more suspicious, "brandon. it's nothing, okay?"

"how come everytime i bring up vinnie you get defensive? and well-" the boy began again

faye slapped her hands on her thighs, annoyed.

"you know what? i'm beat. i'm going to sleep, later." she let out in one breath before quickly turning up the stairs 

by the time she was up the stairs, vinnie and brandon were both watching her. this earning a fake smile and a wave as the girl made her journey to the guest bedroom.

"welp, let's go back to the party right?" vinnie tried, standing up from his place on the stairs with an attempt to walk away before brandon pulled his shoulder back

"tell me."

"tell you what?" the boy played clueless

"i've been your friend for your whole life, vincent. and i know whatever that was wasn't "nothing""

"it's not a big deal."

brandon made a face letting him know that he wasn't giving up any time soon.

"look me and her just ... connected over the summer okay? it was before me and selene so don't try and make me feel bad." vinnie concluded

the other boy scoffed, "can't believe you have two girls on you and i cant even get one, or a guy!"

"i don't have to girls on me."

"yeah you're right. i've never seen you look at selene like that or vice versa. must just be one."

vinnie slapped brandon upside the head, "me and selene are fine."
