"Yes...I was deeply touched by his thoughtfulness and the way he wants to actually protect the people. For their own benefit..."

Ophelia's face showed nothing but shock transformed into a relived and happier expression.

"Haha! Really!?" She dropped her documents on the table and sped towards her.

"Actually, the reason why I was so afraid of him was because I saw that man he slit the back of on the day of your welcoming party he kept saying L-Leo-? Crawford before he passed out,"

Ophelia then realised that she was afraid because of what she had seen. Then Rosetta smiled at Ophelia and told her.

"But I later learned he did that because that pervert was prying on you! I never usually believe rumours, so I want to make it up to him,"

Then with all excitement, Ophelia advised Rose "That's right! You should get to know him more! Give him a present or whatever to make him like you too and be thoughtful of what he would like!"

'Rosetta in the novel naturally knew what Leon loved since she is the female lead. So leaving her to pick his present on her own shouldn't be an issue plus if he does like it and she knows she picked it their connection will grow!'

"Oh, Ophelia! Here," Rosetta handed her a note, "You told me to give this to you before we entered the meeting after it was over,"

Ophelia grabbed it and read it, "Ah yes of course! I knew I'd forget, I need to go find the Duke!"

The Duke of Crawford In Separate Room

"Randolph, you understand my patients is running out," Leon explained as he took off and threw his lounge jacket on the sofa.

"Sorry your grace!" He fell to his knees.

"Sorry? Perhaps it's because I was forced to act more rational during my stay in the palace," he walked up to the wall decorated in armour and swords.

Randolph saw this instantly lowered his head as his whole body began to shake with fear. "I-I wasn't thinking at all! To betray you is like asking for death!"

Leon slowly approached him dragging the sword on the ground creating a screeching sound.

"Ah~ really? But isn't that what you did? You tried to prevent the Princess and Miss Blanchard from making it to the meeting, you're the one who told me to ignore the Princess's request. You're the one, who stole and burnt all the documents we'd found on the people of Moore at the Palace Museum,"

"Your Grace! I only did it to protect you!"

"Shut up!" He yelled as he placed the sword on the right end of his neck and slowly moving it across as his blood spilt down "I won't lie. I don't blame you for telling me not to listen to her, but it's the fact that you made a deal with the Marquis of Harbour,"

'The only reason I haven't killed him yet is because I'm in this damned Royal estate plus I have an image to uphold in front of that foolish Princess of Alira who believes all the rumours about me are actually rumours,' he thought as he debated on whether he should slit his thought or not.

But Leon had decided to kill him already. He took his sword and began to slowly crave a line through his neck.

Clack

The door had opened and to her surprise, Ophelia was met with this vicious scene. "Leon Stop!" She yelled as she hastily sprinted to the Duke.

He gave an aggravated expression before turning around to face her 'He didn't lock that damned door!?'

Randolph instantly grabbed his wounded neck and took the opportunity to escape and scurried out the room.

"Princess of Alira...." He said as he forged a smile.

'I almost forgot the nature of this guy. A crazy man who'd kill anyone that got in his way, he's only been showing me what I wanted to see,' Ophelia thought as she looked at the sword positioned on the ground.

'Ugh, what am I doing I've been caught red-handed. There is no way I can redeem myself now.' He thought as he dropped his facade and sat on the sofa.

"Aren't you going to run away?" He assumed as he pulled out one of his unfilled work documents.

Ophelia then with teary eyes went up to him and asserted "If I wanted to run away! Why would I have come!"

'Damn it! I'm remembering his miserable past for some reason that evil Duchess of Crawford if only she never did what she did...' She threw herself in the space next to him.

"You're crying because of what you saw? He'll survive so stop it,"

She couldn't help but look into his golden eyes as she imagined him as a child experiencing daily torment, 'I can't help it... I'm such an emotional loser! Plus why now -he must've been an adorable child- Stop it Seoul!'

'Why does she keep looking at me like that...'

She bit her lip trying to suppress her tears.

"If you're going to cry because of that man then leave I'm busy-"

"Stupid," she mumbled to herself "I'm not crying for him but for you,"

She then cleared her throat and clarified "Listen, I don't care about that stupid butler," 'he deserves it, in the book he ratted out Leon and ran off with the Marquis's money,'

"I came here to tell you something, keep tabs on Princess Stella since she seems to have caught the plague and the Emporer will most likely use the antidote on her since he loves his kids,"

The Duke was pleasantly acquainted with Ophelia's point "Your correct...I'll get someone on the inside to keep an eye on that," then with a curious manner he asked her "Aren't you afraid of me, isn't this the second time I've hurt someone to near death in front of you,"

Ophelia hence stood up to get out of the room and said "That's your business and no matter what you do I suppose I'll always be fond of you,"

'He hasn't realised I said his name so I should leave,' rapidly rushing to the door she pulled it open to leave and said "I'll see you again soon-"

"Leon?" He noted from behind her closing the door and trapping her "Or were you going to say something else?"
