my dad left me when i was young, too free to be stifled by a child. now that i am a teenager, he comes back. he asks me how my mother is, and i say "dead". his smile turns downwards and i cannot felt but feel that he is responsible for her death. he says, "i didn't do anything," when i snap at him, and yes, that's the issue. you didn't do anything to save me from that trauma, you didn't do anything when she was bleeding out on the floor, you didn't do anything when she slit her wrists and blood poured down the sink. one parent can not replace another, no matter how hard you try. i needed a father four years ago, but now there is too much hate in my heart to make room for you.
