I feel the surge passing through my veins, the electric pulsing in place of my heart, what have I become, why me, all I ever wanted was a normal life, but no I have been chosen, but chosen for what, to be a freak show. But that is of no importance right now, I have to get out of here, out of this old derelict building before it collapses to the ground and engulfs me.
Minutes pass and I'm running, through the darkness, down the black back roads of a town I once called home, that place gone, destroyed just hours ago, a huge yellow beam swept across the silent town whilst everyone was asleep, destroying homes, families and lives, not something a 16 year old should have to witness. It changed me forever, it made me a... well it made me different, it changed me inside, it gave me abilities, ones that I never thought humans could have, the powers almost God like, I Tara Witchfeild am able to control electricity, both man made and natural.
I slow to a walk, I mast be far enough away from the destruction, I begin to wonder, are there more like me, if there are will there abilities be different, or am I alone out here, is there anyone I can tell, anyone that can explain. I notice a building in the distance, old... intact... stable, this looks like the safest place to spend the night. I walk inside and leave the door slightly open, then all of a sudden slam, I turn around, it was nothing just the wind, out the corner of my eye I notice a bench, clearly dragged in from outside I assume, judging from the scrape marks on the floor, I don't care though, I lay and within moments am asleep.
