Finally...a day where the Adventurers ' Guild didn't have a mountain of commissions for her- a day she could spend however she liked. And how did she choose to spend that day?
Visiting Liyue of course!
During her last adventure, she had heard someone talking about a new dish one of the street food vendors was selling- and her mouth watered at the thought of it. So she had to go check it out herself. The h/c haired girl hummed as she hopped over a stray rockpile in the middle of the road, and there it was.
The large, beautiful gates had finally come into view- and the electro user couldn't contain her excitement. She had made sure to save up 2 months worth of mora, just so she had enough to spend. And she picked the right time to save too. Liyue's festival was luckily taking place over the next few days, so she would be able to properly explore. There was to be music, tasty food, gorgeous clothing. And she was so excited.
"Woah" (Y/N) gasped as her boot clad feet pattered over the wooden floors, and her ears were graced with the gentle splashes from the water- and happy chatter from the locals. Her coin pouch jingled softly in her pockets as she skipped around, her e/c orbs wide as she took everything in.
She could smell the fresh meat that was being cooked on the grills, she could smell the hint of salt in the air from the ocean next to her. It was enough to make her head reel, and she couldn't wait any longer. The adventurer ran up to the first food stall she could see, her mouth watering as she watched the dishes being prepared.
"I'll take one serving of almond tofu, please!" (Y/N) grinned, and the chef bowed politely as he began cooking. As she stood patiently waiting for her food to be cooked, she could hear sighs and scoffs coming from behind her. Cautiously, she turned around to investigate.
A girl was stood pretty close behind her, a coin pouch empty in her gloved hands- and a scowl on her face. She was wearing a large witches hat that seemed to block her from the sun, but (Y/N) could still get a good look of her.
"Are you okay?" The electro user asked with concern laced in her voice as she approached the witch, who's head quickly snapped towards her. Her green eyes narrowed at first, but seemed to soften when she established that (Y/N) wasn't a threat. As she opened her pouty mouth to speak, her stomach growled loudly.
"...Have you got any spare change?" The witch mumbled, and the adventurer quickly smiled- turning around to order an extra portion of almond tofu. The two stood in silence as the chef finished up, and (Y/N) turned to give the stranger her portion.
"You seem pretty hungry, so consider this a festival gift!" She beamed, and the witch quickly tucked in. The h/c haired girl let out a chuckle as she slowly ate her own, savouring the delicious flavours and trying to guess the spices used to cook it.
"What's your name? I want to thank you properly" The girl spoke with her mouth still full, her cheeks flushed as she ate- and it looked as if she hadn't eaten in days.
"My name's (Y/N)!" She grinned, and the witch smiled slightly in return, setting her plate down on the bench beside her. (Y/N) could see the hydro crest hanging from her hip, and she couldn't help but think how well they'd work together. After all, hydro and electro make a great pair.
"Well, (Y/N), thank you for your kindness. I was expecting you to just 'shoo' me away. So...you have my appreciation. I'm Mona" Mona smiled as she extended her hand towards her, and (Y/N) eagerly took it.
Little did she know this lack of mora would spark a beautiful partnership between the two.
