The old beaten down car screeched to a halt in an empty parking lot. Well, mostly empty, the big tour bus I was going to be in for the next three months stood before me, with the engine running. Alex turned the car off and Jamie, Nick and him all got out. As soon as the last car door was slammed shut, Matt turned to me and our eyes met.

"You know you don't have to go right?" He looked at me sadly.
"Matt I'm not gonna miss this! You think one little comment from Alex is going to scare me off," I sighed. "You've been there for me through everything, my parents divorce, through Ed-" he cut me off.

"Don't even say his name, don't even think about him again!" He snapped at me. His sudden change in tone was almost as frightening as the knock that came from the window behind me. Of course it was Alex, but I was quite glad that he had broken the tension. I gave him the finger and stuck my tongue out. Which pissed him off.

I shot Matt another smile. I hadn't meant to bring up my ex, because just the very mention of his name was enough to set Matt off. Edward had been physically abusive, and I went on his computer one day while he'd gone shopping, and saw explicit pictures of another woman. In that moment I realized he had been cheating in me for the entirety of our relationship. Matt guided me through breaking up with him, but Edward definitely still stalks my social media's every now and then.

Matt and I snap back to the present and get out of the corsa. The trunk is closed and I turn to the group with a puzzled look on my face. Alex has my suitcase. He must've gotten it out while I was speaking with Matt. "What a gentleman," I tease. He doesn't say anything. I walk towards him to retrieve the luggage with my name on it, and he grips the handle even tighter than before.

"I can get it for you, love" his face remained the same cold smolder, even with the somewhat endearing words. Alex carried the suitcases, mine and his, up the bus steps. The interior was quite nice, and the beds looked oddly comfy for being a small compartment. I unpacked my suitcase which gave me a bit of a migraine, so I decided to take a nap.

In the middle of my nap, Matt parted the curtains and placed his hand in the small of my back. "We're going out drinking. We'll be back soon," he hummed placing a kiss on my forehead. Not in a romantic way, but the way an older brother does to a younger sister.

When he'd said "we're going out" I assumed that meant they all traveled together. This assumption was broken by the loud clashing and the light giggles I heard come from the front of the vehicle. I parted the curtains to see two heavily intoxicated people tonguing each other in the doorway.
