"Hey honey! How was your first day?" my mom poked her head out her window and asked me.
"Schools School..." I shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't ready to tell her that Derek was back.
"Kids..." she sighed, "Get in! I wanna get home!". I walked around to the other side of the car and tried pulling on the handle but my mom drove forward a bit. I growled while she laughed like it was the best thing in the world. I gave it a second before trying again. I opened the door and put on foot in, keeping an eye on my mom who was smiling in the drivers seat.
"You think its so funny, don't you?" I stuck out my tongue. She started laughing again before waving me to get in quicker. I got in and closed the door, as she started to drive off. I looked in the rear- view mirror and guess who I saw. Derek. He just stood there and stared. He knows I'm here. I sunk down in my seat and turned up the radio, getting a weird look from my mom. But I just ignored it.

We pulled into the driveway and I got very excited. Just happy to finally be home. I grabbed my stuff and jumped out of the car. I lost a little balance doing so but caught myself on the next car in the driveway. Dads home! I ran inside to see my dogs jumping all around the door, waiting for me or my mom to walk it. They jumped on me and I screamed a little bit, trying to get them off. Then I heard a laughing coming down the stairs. I looked up to see my dad with a red face.
"Daddy! I have missed you!" I squealed and ran over, jumping on him. He has been away on business. He is always super busy, I don't see him much.
"Hey baby!" He hugged back, "I have missed you too." I turned around to see my mom walk in and smile. She hugged my dad and kissed him on the cheek. I guess he got home while we were gone.
"How was your trip?" My mom smiled an ear to ear smile.
"It was good, it went pretty well----" My dad went on talking about his trip but all I could think about was Derek being back. I went up to my room and landed on my bed. After a long day of school, I think I deserve a nap!

I woke up to the smell of dinner. I jumped up and ran downstairs. Listening to my stomach growl. I looked around the corner and saw my mom in front of the stove cooking.
"Whats for dinner, mom?" I asked.
"Spaghetti" she smiled, turning around to see me. Her favorite food was spaghetti.
"Yum! I'm going to go get cleaned up." I said before walking out of the kitchen and back up the stairs. I felt really nasty and dirty, I needed a shower. I grabbed a towel and my razor, heading into the bathroom. Then the door bell rang. I walked over to the railing of the stairs and looked over, watching as my mom answered it. She opened the door and I saw no one there just a box on the ground. She picked it up and brought it inside the door. She read the label and then looked up, guessing looking for me.
"Honey, you have mail." she held up the box a little higher. I sat down my towel and razor onto the railing and ran down the stairs. I grabbed the box from my mom and went over to the dining room table.
"Mail doesn't usually delver this late, its almost 9" she followed behind me. Giving the box a not trusting look. I looked at her and then back at the box, wondering what it was I started pulling off the tape. I looked at my mom one time more before pulling the box completely open. I couldnt believe what I saw...
