(Y/n): (narrating) on this festive and enchanted day... family's bringing food offerings to the altars of their beloved.

Sasha: it's like a hundred day birthday party.

(Y/n): Yes, it is. And on this particular Day of the Dead after centuries of being banished... Xibalba had had enough.

Xibalba and La Muerte rise up from their Graves

Xibalba: Really, my dear you have no idea how cold and vile the Land of the Forgotten has become.

La Muerte: Just like your heart, Xibalba. Just like your heart.

Xibalba passes by a family, exstinguising the candles and then, La Muerte relights them

Xibalba: Why must I rule a bleak wasteland while you enjoy the endless fiesta in the Land of the Remembered? It's simply unfair.

[Xibalba goes to touch a man when La Muerte slaps him on the hand, stopping him]

La Muerte: Xibalba!

Xibalba: What? It's his time. More or less.

La Muerte: Not today, my friend.

Xibalba: Come on, dear. Trade lands with me. I beg you!

La Muerte: You're so cute when you beg.

Xibalba: I'm serious. I hate it down there.

La Muerte: Hey. You're there because you cheated! You made your bed with that wager. You're not the man who has been my friend like all those centuries ago.

Xibalba: Let's not dwell in the past. Anyway, I was thinking... How about another little wager?

La Muerte: You think you can calm the flames of my anger with another bet? What exactly did you have in mind?

[Xibalba chuckles and leads her up to a rooftop]

Xibaba: Let's check out the menu for the evening. Look there. Classic mortal dilemma. Two boys. Best friends, no less.

La Muerte: In love with the same girl.

Manolo is about to play his guitar when Joaquin interrupts by standing in front of him

Joaquin: Fear not, senorita. Your hero has arrived!

Maria: Is that so?

Manolo: How dare you interrupt a guitarrista?

Joaquin stabs at Manolo with his sword but Manolo dodges out of the way several times causing Joaquin to fall over. He heads over to you and your sister.

Joaquin: [shoves him away] The girl is mine.

Manolo: Never! She is mine.

[Maria and you push them down]

Maria: we belong to no one.
