Maybe this wasn't my best idea. I've been on the bus for over an hour or two and the only people who have gotten on is a little old man with frilly grey hair, and a man with his hood pulled over his head that would look at me from time to time. Curiosity, possibly. But I decided to ignore the feeling creeping up the back of my neck. My jaw still hurt a bit but it wasn't something I couldn't handle. I stared out the window as doubts and what if's flooded my head. My head was telling me to go back because even if they were abusive and controlling, I was safe from the outside world. Out here, alone, I wasn't.
But every bone in my body was telling me that I needed to get away and that this was the right thing to do. My heart was practically screaming that at me. I chewed my bottom lip lightly as I checked my phone. I'll need to switch buses at the next stop if I want to get to Paju-si. Just then, the bus pulled to a stop and I glanced up at the bus driver. He rose a brow at me and I got off the bus, only to hear footsteps behind me.
I glanced behind me to see that hooded guy from the bus behind me and shrugged off the feeling that something was wrong. I looked back at my phone, at the map I was using, and noticed that I was near the next bus stop. I sped walked over there and noticed a tall, wealthy looking man walking towards me and an idea popped into me head. What if I just..
"O-ow! I-I'm so sorry, sir! Are you alright?" I feigned a pained and panicked yelp as I purposely bumped into him, pretending to not be looking where I was going, causing us both to fall. He gave me a soft look as I pretended to hold my arm in pain.
"A-ah, I'm alright. Here let me help you." He said and helped me stand up, I winced and brought tears to my eyes. His eyes widened.
"Here take this and don't tell anyone I hurt you." The man panicked and handed me his wallet after taking out his I.D. I pulled a shocked expression as he bolted away and I stood there with the wallet in my hands. To anyone around us, it would look like someone just paid me off so I wouldn't tell anyone that they hurt me but in reality, I just manipulated this sucker into giving me his wallet.
Thank you, Acting class. You are actually useful. Noticing the hooded guy still behind me, I kept my act up and lightly limped towards the bus stop. The bus pulled up rather quickly and I got on, ignoring hoodie guy and sat in the middle of the bus. Once again the bus driver looked at me weirdly. What's with bus drivers today? I mean I know I look young but damn, I'm going to be twenty in like three days! Oh yeah they don't know that. Silly me.
A few more hours passed and we finally stopped in Paju-si. I got off the bus, not bothering to thank the bus driver before heading out in the streets. It was only 3am, no one was outside for the most part and everything was dead silent. Well, apart from my shoes hitting against the pavement along with another pair of shoes. I looked in the reflection of a car to see the hooded guy behind me. Maybe he's just going somewhere and it's this way. I thought and kept walking. I took a turn, thinking he would go a different way but he didn't. Soon enough he rounded the corner and was following me again.
I picked up my pace and started walking a little faster, hearing his speed increase as well. I turned another corner and he followed. Okay. He's following me. I felt my heart rate pick up and I started running as I turned another corner. The sound of my shoes smacking against the pavement echoed, followed by the sound of his shoes chasing after me. Holy shit. I wanted adventure but not this! The little voice in my head told me to run and I ran faster, before finding a staircase that led down to the subway. I raced down the stairs and bolted across the tiled floor.
I noticed that he wasn't behind me anymore and paused behind a pillar to catch my breath. My heart was beating erratically and I could feel it pounding in my chest. I took a deep breath and just as I was about to let it out, a cool, sharp piece of metal settled across my throat and I froze. Fuck. It was hoodie guy. Except now he was blueberry as his blue hair was exposed.
"Give me all your money and I'll let you go." The blueberry man's deep voice sent a shiver down my spine and I gulped lightly. My heart started thumping even harder and more erratically as I struggled to form a coherent sentence in my head. He pressed the blade slightly harder against my skin and I felt my heart stop.
"Give me your money and I won't stab you. It's simple." Blueberry boy gritted out and pressed the blade harder. My vision clouded as my body went into overdrive and I started going limp. If I fainted would he kill me? I didn't know. I didn't want to faint, that would make me look weak and I hated that. But that's what it looked like was going to happen.
Black dots swam in my vision as the adrenaline finally reached my head and I blacked out.
I really did faint huh?
