Tears are blurring her vision now as she forcefully shifts the car into reverse and backs out of her driveway before speeding off, tires squealing loudly as she hopes and prays she can make it there in time before anything happens to the girl she's grown to love.—–
So many things are running through Camila's mind as she speeds down the dark roads, thankful that it's late enough to the point where not many cars are present. And that includes cops.
She was speeding way above the speed limit on the way to Malia's house with the only thing on her mind was Lauren's wellbeing. She could either be perfectly okay, or the complete opposite. It was impossible to tell over the phone and that's what scares her to death.
Camila furiously wipes the tears from her eyes as she turns sharply into the neighborhood. She cut a 20-minute drive almost in half. Normally she wouldn't be so reckless, but if reckless meant getting to Lauren as quickly as possible, then so be it.
She reaches an extremely large brick house with tons of cars parked outside and faint music bleeding through the walls. Camila quickly parks the car and yanks the key out of the ignition before sprinting across the lawn and up to the door. She pulls the massive and heavy front door open and is immediately hit with a strong scent of alcohol, even making her flinch back and pinch her nose. There are people everywhere and Camila's uneasiness of being in areas with a ton of people was beginning to settle in. But right now she needs to focus on finding Lauren in this place and get her the hell out. She also wonders where Normani could be but she doesn't have time to scavenge around in this unfamiliar house where she can't even see two feet in front of her. It doesn't help that she's pretty short too.
Camila remembers on the phone that Lauren said she was heading upstairs where it was quieter so her eyes shoot around frantically for any sight of stairs and once she sees it, she maneuvers through the sea of people, holding her breath to avoid the repulsive spell of liquor and god knows what else was in the air and in the systems of her peers.
Camila's getting bumped into and accidentally touched on relentlessly by sweaty bodies all around her and she practically gags at how uncomfortable everything feels and smells to her right now. Who would want to do this all the time?
She literally feels a sharp contrast in the temperatures of the air as soon as her foot lands on the second story of the house. Downstairs it was burning hot, cramped, muggy, and foul smelling and up here it is cool, clean and the air is actually breathable. After regaining some desperately needed air, she begins to jog down the hallways, inspecting each one of the doors. Panic starts to enter into her mind again when she doesn't have any luck with the first 4 or 5 doors. That is until she reaches one door near the end of the hallway and opens it to find Malia kneeled on the ground, helping to sit up a dazed and miserable looking Lauren.
"What the fuck did you do to her?!" Camila screams, blood boiling at the sight of a sober and conscious Malia with a drunk and stunned Lauren together in a room by themselves. You can't blame her for jumping to rash conclusions. Her common sense is blurred.
"No, Camila! I swear to God that I did not do anything to her," Malia tries to explain desperately, her eyes wide and a hand held up in defense. "I just found her passed out on the ground and I was able to wake her up a minute ago, I swear."
"Get away from her," Camila growls threateningly. Where that menacing look and voice came from, she doesn't know but what she does know is that she doesn't want Malia anywhere near Lauren right now. Her girlfriend's current mental and physical state is all Malia's fault anyways. She was the one who decided to have this fucking party in the first place.
