As humanity ventures through space, and become friends and enemies with other complex creatures they discover the tale of the Granve, currently set into hibernation and exile on a frozen over planet, they are feared as weapons and killers. Humanity with our ever growing border of sympathy couldn't help but feel that it was wrong for however fearsome they may be to "lock them up" on the planet. Humanity sent a small expedition crew to investigate of the species.
The first people there made peace with the promise to take the Granve off the planet, to the crews surprise Granve weren't really..... following the avancement trends, most alien life was bipedal, and fairly small or well not much bigger than humans at most they were another half tall.... but they were able to switch between walking on fours and twos kind of like chimps and such? Bit also not at all, they were also at least twice as tall as a person at their shortest while on two legs, on four legs they were as tall as a person. Even on the desolate wasteland that was their planet unless they were set into (pretty damn) permanent hibernation they lived in small camps around their still pretty ruined crafts, their planet was covered in ice but even under that ice there was water and creatures that had become experst of survival there that could and would kill them once they were down there, so they had no resources to repair theirs ships or crafts.
Through out the time learning of and getting to know the Granve, they learned that even without weaponry or expertise their sheer mass and strength would alow them to kill and destroy enemies with ease, that is why the other living beings had feared killed and captured them. After the expedition and explanations, human representatives decided and alowed people to move ships and craft along with Granve to a nearby mineral rich planet, there reparing and generally helping the Granve to have access to the places they please as this did happen Granve became grateful, but for this many other aliens began attacking humanity for "releasing the tales of nightmares."
Granve was grateful and attached to humanity, so they began to co exist and protect each other on their planets, this is still a war like situation however and humanity is seeing more of its own defenses seized and taken to protect them by the Granve.
