My life had never been such a mess. My mom hated me and my twelve year old sister despised my very existence. Being alive just seemed to be a burden to anyone i met. Whenever I'm around someone i just seem to bring sadness and depression onto them, and then when they get to know me they just leave. Everyone leaves me.
I walked down my eighth grade hallway holding my books, keeping me head down so i didn't make eye contact with anyone. Doing so would lead to me atracting unwanted attention and possibly getting some choice words thrown at me. It always happened whether i kept my head down or not. But not meeting anyone's eyes made me feel like they couldn't see me. It made me feel the slightest bit safer. But i knew i would never be safe.
I got to my locker and quickly twisted the combination lock and popped it off, hastily opening my locker, shoving my books in my bag, and speed walking towards the door at the end of the hall. Maybe if i got home fast enough... he wouldn't get to me today.
I made my way down the front steps, tossing my bag onto my shoulder, hurriedly making my way to the crosswalk. After looking both ways i jogged across the street. When i reached the other side i walked down the street and turned down a road that was less active than the rest of the roads aroumd here. This was..... where it usually happened..... i quickened my pace, my heart pounding in fear that i, once again, may not make it home fast enough.
I made another turn onto an even quieter street. It seemed to be dead. The only movement or sound was the breeze rustling through the trees. I shivered and hugged myself in my my Pierce The Veil sweater. What if it happened again? What if..... no. My house was just three blocks away. I had nothing to worry about.
I took my phone out of my pocket and checked the screen. 3:17. No texts. Of course. Why did i even have a phone? Its not like i have any friends to talk to. Its not like my mom cares to know where i am I sighed and put my phone back in my pocket.
Before i knew it i was pushed into an alley and shoved to the ground. A dark figure loomed over me. The dim light illuminated the eerie smile that had become so familiar to me. The tall figure reached down and stroked my cheek, his other hand moving up and down my thigh. It was him. I looked up at him with a look of terror on my face. This had happened so often but i would never be used to him appearing like this. Never.
"Hello again my beautiful Kayla," he whispered near my ear in his deep voice. I could feel his warm breath and then the feel of his lips on my neck. The hand he had on my thigh moved up amd under my shirt and grasped my breast.
"P-please," i barely whispered. "Not again..... please...."
He bit my neck, surely leaving a mark that i would need to hide from my mother. She would think i ran off with a boy and got laid if she saw it, then she would make me get a pregnancy test. I would have to listen to her call me whore and slut for the next week.
His face got uncomfortably close to mine amd he grinned. "You know the drill. I get what i want and you get to go home." He tugged at the hem of my jeans. "Off."
I looked away from him, not moving. He slapped me when i didn't do anything for a few seconds. A small sob escaped my throat as i undid my jeans for the hundredth time.
He rolled off of me onto the pavement. I covered my eyes, unsure what would happen next. When nothing happened, i removed my hands from my face to see that scene in front of me.
He lay on the ground, unmoving. He was definitely alive because i could see the steady rise and fall of his back. Another man stood above him. His hands were in fists and one was covered in blood. I looked up at his face. He had soft black scene hair that hung in front of his eyes, being moved by the breeze slightly. The dim light cast shadows under his cheek bones and made his snake bite piercings shine. He was skinny but visibly strong enough to handle himself.
The wind blew his hair out of his eyes for a second and his eyes locked on mine. His stare was so intense that my breath cought in my throat. His eyes..... they were such an intense blue......
He reached out his hand for me to take. I hesitated a second before taking it. I let him help me up and i brushed my knees off. I stood up and was about to say thank you but he was gone.
