Story Overview: Mando, The Child, and yourself had to land on a mostly deserted planet because of damage that the Crest had sustained. The ship would be fixed by morning but you had to find somewhere to sleep for the night. Once at your resting spot, the three of you find it to be quite small.
Word count - 1,505
Rating - angst? + tiny bit of fluff
Notes/warnings - italics are dialog, but they are also meant to represent a dream in this story. There are mentions of death and sadness. The story was supposed to be more comedic at first, but as I was writing it changed a bit, but I still like how it came out.

"You doing ok little one," you ask the Child, raising his hood to see him. He gives you slight coo reaching his arms out towards your face. The noise and action of him causes you to lean your face closer to his, after which you feel his small hands on your cheeks.
A small giggle escapes your lips, while you look into his big eyes.
Mando, unbeknownst to you, had watched this interaction, noticing the bond that you and the Child had. He knew the child was incredibly attached to him more than anyone, but he also knew that you had a way with children, and they were drawn to you.
Mando looked around as you walked to the nearest lodging, making sure to stay alert since this planet wasn't exactly know for hospitality. They were by no means opposed to visitors, but they were definitely selective of who they allowed to stay.
"How is the Child doing," Mando asked through his modulator.
"Huh, oh, he's doing fine," you say, looking back to the Child, giggling at his smile.
Mando gave you a nod of recognition, showing that he heard you.
The inn could be seen in the distance, it's dim, but welcoming lights giving off a slight glow while the sun set.
When you walked in, there weren't many people inside, and the people that were, were just drinking. The building looked old, but not in a bad way. It had its questionable areas yes, but it gave it a very homey feel.
The both of you walked up to the counter, Mando asking the woman if you could rent a room for the night.
"You both are in luck since I only have one room, and it's currently vacant." The woman was kind as she spoke, a bit of a twang in her voice, accompanied by a gentle smile, and warm eyes. You were a bit hesitant since you and Mando would have to share a room, but you told yourself that it would only be awkward if you made it awkward.
She directed you both to the room, and said to see her if there were any questions or issues. The both of you thanked her, and headed to the room.
Mando opened the door to find one of the tiniest rooms you had ever seen. It was enough to fit a bed with room for two, a single chair in the corner, and maybe two to three feet on every side surrounding the bed.
Silently, you both stood there, trying to process how this was going to work.
You realized the amount of prolonged quietness, clearing your throat to ease it. Mando looked at you for a quick moment, before turning back to the room, and offering for you to enter first.
You accept his offer, bringing yourself and the Child into the room, Mando following close behind.
The knapsacks you had been carrying were set down on the floor, while you placed the Child on the bed. Your eyes glanced over the room again, seeing once more just how small it was.
