Martin pulled away and looked at me. I looked back shocked. He was a deep red and I looked at the ground.
"Baki"
"What?"
"I'm sorry but I'm not attracted to you in that way"
"I know"
"Baki please don't be sa-"
"Just go away Martin leave me alone" I barked smacking him upside the head with a solid blow of my wing.
His eyes rolled back and he collapsed. I just...I just k-k killed my best friend. I backed away tears welling up in my eyes as I fled. I ran farther than I should have my lungs crackling and I collapsed. I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder. I looked up tears in my eyes at the man I'd missed more than anything. Sub's father James lifted me up into his tendrils. Sub was not to far behind draining the color from the flowers to brighten his own. He picked one from the vine and held it gently.
"Can we go see mommy?" Sub asked his father.
"Of course we can Subby"
The five year old cheered happily. I felt safe with these two but where was Alison? Sub ran off his father following cradling me. Sub stopped at a little stone with a symbol. A hunter symbol. Alison was dead killed by a hunter. Sub set the perfect bleeding heart on the stone gently and he said something I couldn't make out before suddenly I fell on my butt. Sub screamed and ran to his dad who was disintegrating in front of my eyes. I saw someone take aim at Sub so I grabbed the little boy and leapt into the air.
