"Grandpa, I'm back. Is Ben back yet?" Jen asked as she closed the front door. She walked into the kitchen and saw her Grandpa prepping tea. She placed the eggs by Max and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge.
"No. It's been nearly thirty minutes. Hope he's okay." The older man said. Jen took a swig of water, before turning to her Grandpa.
"I'm going to go look for him. Be back soon." Jen told her as she walked to the door. She had an uneasy feeling suddenly appear. She shook her head and walked out the house, knowing where Ben would be.
Back in the forest, Ben yelled as he jumped around. He could feel the heat radiating from his body.
"I'M ON FIRE! I'M ON FIRE!" He yelled. He then stopped when he realised, it didn't hurt. "Wait, I'm on fire. And I'm okay." Ben said. "Check it out, I'm totally hot." He then looked at a nearby tree and smirked.
He pointed his finger and a small flame shot from his finger. "Now this is awesome." He said as he fired more small flames. He had to admit, it was quite fun.
His eyes quickly went wide when he realised the fire was slowly burning out of control. "No! No! Ohh shit!" Ben mumbled as he stomped on a twig, causing more fire.
"This would be so cool, if it wasn't so, un-cool!" Ben mumbled looking around at his unintentional distruction.
Jen was walking through the woods, she had sent multiple text messages to her dingbat of brother and he hadn't gotten back to her. Not even once.
"I swear, Benjamin Kirby Tennyson, I will give you a reason why the boys don't come near me!" She growled. She suddenly saw a cloud of black smoke, causing her to groan. "Great, now there's an idiot who's messing with something they shouldn't." Her eyes then went wide with realisation. "Ben." She gasped as she ran to the cause of the smoke.
Despite Ben attempting to stop the fire, he ended up making it worse. Much to his disappointment. "I'm going to get so busted for this." He told himself, completely unaware that his sister was several feet away, using her powers to defuse the fire.
Jen backed up and bumped into something solid. She turned around in relief, thinking it was Ben, but when she saw that it was a humanoid molten rock monster, she couldn't help but scream in terror as she used her powers and sent the thing back, making it break through a tree.
She walked towards the monster as her eyes glowed blue as blue energy surrounded her hands. "I don't know what the hell you are, but stay down if you know what's good for you!" She growled, when her foot suddenly caught a flame, she yelled as the small flame stopped. Jen narrowed her eyes as she levitated herself. "I'm warning you!" She added.
"Don't even think about it, Jenny!" The thing told her. Jen's eyes went wide at that. There was only one person in the world who could get away with calling her that. Without getting a black eye or a broken nose.
"Ben? What the heck happened to you?" She asked.
"Well, I was at our old hangout when this thing crash landed near me. It wasn't a meteor like I first thought. When out of nowhere this watch thing jumped onto my wrist. I tried to get it off when I started this forrest fire." Ben explained. "And I don't know how to stop it!"
Jen looked around when an idea popped into her head. "Backfire. Start a new fire and let it burn into the old fire. They should cancel eachother out. I'll put up an energy field to help speed it up."
"Got it!" Ben said as the two ran out of the forrest, where he started a new fire and Jen covered the Forrest in a blue energy field. They smiled at eachother as they watched their teamwork, actually work before they ran away from the forrest.
