George didn't have many options.

It was awful to think about, and even worse to ponder what that entailed for him, but it was true nonetheless.

As of right now, he was stuck above land, in a ship full of bad humans. They called themselves pirates (among other things), injured Sam, and captured him to be interrogated. He was getting blamed for other ships and humans disappearing, which was totally wrong.

That, and he'd apparently shrivel up if he ran out of water.

It was almost embarrassing to try and burrow into his rapidly-depleting puddle of seawater.

He didn't want to shrivel up, but he didn't want to give these guys the satisfaction of holding him hostage.

Things looked bleak, and if he didn't find a way out or a way to explain all of this to the masked Dream guy, he'd look like the broiled kelp his sister Beryl practically butchered a few months ago.

She wasn't the greatest cook.

Beryl.....

George deeply missed his family. His veiled threats about the entire ocean coming after these pirates and everyone else got him thinking about the ones he had left behind. Just because he'd wanted to sneak out for a little while, his friends were put in danger and the entire kingdom of the sea just lost the crown prince.
