Wooooo I'm back

Or am I?

happy one year since the last update, btw 💀

Enjoy!

.....just kidding. I'm dropping a short author's note for a moment.

First off, a lot has happened since I've last updated.

Technoblade's passing (which I regretfully did not address earlier), the end of the DreamSMP, changes going on in the general world of Minecraft gamers + Twitch streamers, new SMPs, new content creators growing in popularity, Dream's face reveal, new music from many of our favorite creators, other global events not totally related to our communities, and more.

Frankly, I thought it was getting to the point where this story was becoming irrelevant. And really, it is.

I started this partially as a joke, but also to help refine my writing skills and "dive deeper" into the mermaid-romance trope, to basically create what I specifically wanted to see in these kinds of stories. I used familiar characters (not the people themselves) to bring it to life, and didn't expect to see so many of you here.

Your comments and reactions to the story helped me keep writing, but I can't say I took this story as seriously as I take my other stories. Honestly, if you look at my account, I haven't been taking ANY of my stories seriously. And what I mean by that, is updating and replying and actually continuing the story that you readers want to see. I enjoy seeing the engagement more than writing the actual story, which is probably how most creators feel.

We want acknowledgement or feedback on the work that we're too demotivated to make.

Truthfully, this account of mine has a lot of history. I've mostly used it as an outlet for fandoms, which I won't bother naming and boring you, and a lot of stories/interests have come and gone. Some hyperfixations, I haven't even written about - either because I'm happy with the canon, don't have the time, or just haven't stumbled across any creative genius that would make my favor for the piece of media known.

I've even removed what I'm not proud of, and I'm truthfully not proud of removing things at all, because I want to be able to see how I've grown and almost embrace the cringe. That's how you learn to write. That's how you learn to grow. You make mistakes, and you learn. You move on. I've more or less moved on from the stories I have removed, that some of you may never have seen, but I hold their memories in a very special place. The stories I have up on my account now don't always reflect my current interests, but they do reflect what my past self was proud enough to keep and put forth in the world. And my current self is more than happy to continue leaving it up.

I don't know, maybe I'm getting too much in my feelings. I just don't know how else to describe why I've left Wattpad on a high shelf and haven't taken it down to look at it that often. I've been more active on AO3, posting my Switcheroo story that I am genuinely happy with. And even then.....I've neglected it too, in favor of focusing on some tougher times in my life. Which hurts, because I love to write, I love to tell stories, I love to create.....and I love to see what people think.

My point is, I didn't expect many of you to STILL be here, commenting and waiting for the next update. I can say with absolute certainty that I've fleshed out a general story and know how it will all end, but I can't say that I've been proactive in actually writing it down. I've been so busy with some really heavy things in life, that I've taken you guys as readers for granted and only come back when its convenient for me with a mediocre update.
