We were walking in the woods quietly. It was awkward. We usually talk to each other all the time, now it's like we just meet. I had to brake the silence, "so, are you going to tell me what's wrong?" I asked. He glanced at me nervously, "Min, what would you do if a really close friend that you have knew something you been wanting to know but, that person never told you the truth. Would you still be there friend?" This is what he wanted to ask me? Well he could have just asked me when we were at school. "It depends on what the thing it is that the 'close' friend lied to me about." I said. "And what about if that person was hiding it for reason? That it could cost that persons life." Why is he asking me this? I don't get it. "Well that would be a different thing. It depends. Look let me see if you can understand what I mean. If the person is doing it but doesn't really care about how I might feel then no, but if there life or even someone else that matters to them is at risk and that's why they have been lying to me, I'll understand." His face relaxed a little. "Minica, I....I...I... I'm sorry!" He surprised me and gave me a hug. He was squeezing the breath out of me. "I'm really sorry," he repeated. He was still hugging me. I hands out forward. I couldn't decide what to do. I didn't know if I should shove him or hug him back. I was paralyzed. I've never had hug from someone in such a long time.
He started to loosen his grip but, he didn't let go. I was standing up straight. I slowly raised my arms and hugged him back. I didn't really hug him. I was still a bit paralyzed.
He started to hug me tighter to him. I let out a sigh and completely let myself go. I hugged back and I let my head rest on his shoulder. Oh yeah I forgot to mention this, he was carrying me. My feet were off the ground; he's usually taller than me.
He put me down. He was still hugging me. We slowly let go of each other. We were standing there in the middle of the woods in silence, "why are you sorry?" I asked but, right at that moment someone pulled me away from him and covered my face with a piece of black cloth. "Wait! Stop!" I heard Rogelio, yell.
I heard movement being done in front of me then I heard a thud and the movement stopped.
I couldn't breath... I feel like I'm dying. I've blacked out
