"Watch where you're going, nerd!" I heard him said. I quickly nodded, not wanting to be here any longer. I knelt to the ground to search for my glasses that fell when I bumped into him. Without it, everything seemed blurry. Very blurry.
Then I heard a crack and saw something black in front of me. It looked like someone's jeans. It moved from my vision and I saw some black fragments on the ground. I scrambled a little blindly towards the fragments and when I touched it, it cut my finger. I was right. It was my glasses. Tears started brimming in my eyes. Damn it, I can't cry now.
I saw many blurry legs around me and heard laughter from all around me. Someone threw an empty can at me. Another poured cold coke on me. Then they all continued to throw cans at me. I was miserable and cold.
After everyone left, I finally let out a sob. Suddenly I felt a jacket over me and realized I wasn't alone. I blushed slightly, embarrassed. The one that gave me the jacket knelt in front of me. He was close enough that I knew who he is. He's the one that always picked on me, Andrew. "You okay?" He asked, worried. My eyes widened.
Now why would he care? He's the one that started this anyway. "Yeah." I mumbled, looking down. He pulled out tissues from his shirt and began wiping me. I blushed harder. Then he picked up my glasses and helped me up. "Come on, let's skip school for today and buy you new glasses." He said, slipping his hand in mine. But I snatched mine away.
"It's okay. Thanks for the tissues." I said, returning his jacket. I couldn't see clearly, but I'm pretty sure hurt flashed his face as hurt laced his voice. "Look, I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to pick on you all this time. It's just that, my parents' been pressuring me to be popular and when I did, I have to be bad. I wanted to be nice to you actually, but I can't, not with them around. So please, just this time, let me help you." He said, pleadingly.
Suddenly I felt guilty. "I'm sorry." I said quietly and intertwined my hand with his. I could see him smile, a blurry smile. We walked to a glasses shop and he bought me new glasses. We skipped school and hung out all day. It was fun.
