-Lauren's POV-
Olivia and I have had a few hours alone to get to know each other; well more like time for me to get to know her and myself. It's so weird to think about and even weirder to actual live through. Having other people tell you about who you are is seriously a weird mental trip to be on but it's my only option.
Olivia seems a lot more willing to tell me details about my life than Demi and Steph have been thus far so I'm really grateful for that. She also seems like a great person and I can easily see why I was dating her. Am dating her? Yeah, am dating. It's still hard to get the hang of saying; it's like being thrown into the deep end of a pool and everyone just expects you to swim.
As great as Olivia is, I can't stop myself from comparing her to Demi. I feel really guilty every time she kisses me or laces our fingers together; secretly wishing it was Demi doing those things. Since waking up from my coma, I find myself thinking more and more about Demi especially when she isn't around.
Almost as if on cue, Steph comes rushing into the room dragging Demi in behind her. My heart flutters and a smile lights up my face when my eyes land on the gorgeous brunette. I quickly cover up my excitement when I see Olivia frown at my reaction. I shift my gaze down to the bed covers to hide my embarrassment.
"Hey bestie! Did you miss us?" Steph chirps as she takes a seat on my bed, opposite to where Olivia is seated. Demi remains standing near the door. Something seems to be a little off and her eyes and face look slightly puffy. Had she been crying? Every nerve in my body screams for me to wrap her up in my arms and never let go. Shit, I need to stop thinking like this.
I'm with Olivia. Olivia's my girlfriend. Demi is just a friend. A very attractive friend.
I'm snapped from my thoughts by the sound of agitated bickering. Steph and Olivia are throwing not so subtle bitchy remarks at each other. I'm confused. Why don't they get along?
"Hey hey you two, stop okay? That's enough." Both of them immediately stop talking; Steph has a guilty look on her face but Olivia shows no emotion. "What's going on with you two?" Neither of them says anything so I decide to drop it for now but I'll have to find out sooner or later if I ever want to spend time with all of them together. "So what have you two been up to?" I ask gesturing to Steph and then Demi, who remains planted to her spot near the door.
"Oh we were having a chat with your doctor, filling her in on recent developments." Steph directs the last part to Olivia, who glares back at her.
"Okay, seriously, what's going on between you two?"
"Nothing baby" Olivia is quick to answer as she takes my hand in hers. Steph rolls her eyes and audibly scoffs. She looks like she's about to say something but Demi quietly clears her throat from across the room and Steph immediately presses her lips into a tight smile. What is going on? They've been acting weird ever since Olivia got here. Is it possible that something happened between them that no one is telling me?
"I'm feeling a little tired, do you guys mind if I take a nap?" I ask everyone as I fake a yawn. I'm not really tired but I need some time on my own to process everything that I've learned from Olivia over the last few hours and the tension in the room right now is starting to feel suffocating.
"I don't mind staying. I don't really want you to be alone" Olivia offers with a sweet smile.
"Yeah we don't mind staying either, right Demi?" Steph interjects.
I risk a quick glance in Demi's direction, feeling Olivia stare me down as I do. Maybe I'm not being subtle enough with my feelings about Demi and Olivia can see it. Demi only offers me a small smile and a nod as she agrees with Steph. Honestly, I would love nothing more than to have Demi stay but there's no way for me to ask without raising Olivia's suspicions.
