I stared in awe at the beautiful train infront of me. Suddenly Cal and Ashley started tugging on my hand.
"C'mon Y/N hurry were gonna miss it, we have to find a good compartment!" Ashley eagerly said as she tugged on my arm.
"Alright alright I'm coming I'm coming." I snapped back yanking my hands out of their grip.
I followed everyone to put my luggage where it was needed and then boarded the train. As soon as I entered, a smell and feeling hit me; it felt safe, it felt welcoming, it felt like home. My feeling safe didn't last long, as a wave of nervousness hit me unexpectedly. I followed Cal til we found the compartment Dakota was in. I sat beside Dakota, Ashley and Cal sat in front of us. I convinced Dakota to let me have the window seat (which is extremely hard if you ask me.) Kids were yelling to thier parents waving thier goodbyes, practically about to fall out the windows.
When the train started to move I started shaking slightly and bouncing my leg acasionally. About 20 mins into the ride all while making small talk. Dakota smacked her hand on my shoulder.
"Could you quit moving! Your moving the entire seat, what's got you so wrung up?" Dakota asked. She knew I got nervous and was usally sweet and caring but had a constant growing bossy additude since she became a 'teen'.
"I'm just nervous okay." Annoyance and shyness lined my voice. "What if I get Slytherin and dad gets upset or what if I get Gryffindor and mom gets upset what if...." I continued to ramble on about the situation until Dakota pulled someone from the hall.
"If it's not too much trouble could you help me for a moment." Dakota said to whomever was in the hallway. I didn't dare look up I just kinda froze except for the sudden every now and then leg movement.
"Sure, what's up?" A guy's voice said, very pitchy but I could tell it was a guy.
"Of course what do you need Kota," Another voice said, a girl's It was sweet and calming.
"You two are always so good with first years and my younger sister here," Dakota said as she slipped to the side to make me more viewable to whoever was in the hall. The entire time she talked I still kept my head down. "She's been nervous the entire time, no one could seem to calm her down, mind giving it a try?" Dakota said, like she had even tried.
"Almost every year this happens but always makes a better student." The girl said
I finally looked up and saw two students, they looked about Dakotas age.
The girl had medium length curly blonde hair that was pinned back with two clips with birds on them. She wore a black robe with the Ravenclaw crest in the corner and a blue tie.
The boy standing slightly behind her had curly flaming red hair, he aswell was in his robes but with a Gryffindor crest in the corner and Gryffindor tie.
"Y/N these two are in my year," I nodded my head following along with what she was saying, "This is Percy Weasley she said pointing to the boy and this other girl is Penelope Clearwater." Dakota finished.
Penelope? The name sounded familiar, too familiar for a person I just met. Is she the girl in the picture? Can't be!
"If your just going to sit there what's the point in helping, she seems fine to me." Percy said and stomped away leaving.
"Perce understand the kid for a moment, you were once in her spot she'll warm up but you need to chill." Penelope said snapping at the boy.
"I never expected you to say something like that." Dakota whispered taken aback.
