Cedric's POV:
I noticed as Y/N's eyes got locked to something on the other side of the room. I saw what I least expected, but surely enough there was her mother looking through the window. Her form exactly like as if she was human just a tad transparent. Long curly black hair, dark brown eyes that I felt stare into my soul as she locked eyes with me.
'Y/N must have gotten her looks from her father' I thought.
I broke from her gaze and looked over at Y/N she looked frozen, slightly shaking but only enough for just me to notice. I wanted to comfort her like I did where we sat in the great hall that day she got the howler. I knew I couldn't, I didn't want her mother to think of Y/N as easier prey, someone easy to target.
Just then I heard footsteps coming by the room I could only hope that it was Cal and not a prefect or head student. I peered out the door when I saw Cal just merely passing by I grabbed his arm taking him by surprise. Before he could scream or fight back I pulled him back against the door covering his mouth with my hand and tilting his head slightly so that he could he his aunt in the window. I knew when he saw her bc he tensed up a bit and I watched as he bawled up his fists, his tan nuckles turned white under pressure (not like he could punch her but protective little guy.)
Cal grabbed his wand jumping infront of Y/N. Standing in a position that looked like he was about ready to duel.
'Oh no,' I thought again.
Cal and I must not have the same wavelength of ideas. He had his wand pointed right at Y/N's mother, ready to attack. I look over to her mother and noticed her eyes turning a bright red, the minute I saw I immediately had this splitting headache. She was making direct eye contact with Cal, I noticed his fair skin getting even paler than it was before. His dark blue eyes becoming a lighter blue every second. Then he dropped to the ground, limp, motionless. Y/N let out a scream once this happened, I would have too if I wasn't worried about staying quiet, but that wasn't one of Y/N's worries right now. A couple of seconds later after us trying to shake Cal awake someone busted into the room.
Great.
It was Gabriel Truman, one of our Hufflepuff prefects. He focused his attention onto Cal first as that's where the rest of us were.
"What happened," Gabriel asked sternly.
Y/N lifted up a visibly shaking hand which pointed towards her mother. Gabriel practically jumped to his feet retrieving his wand pointing to her. She tried to use the same spell of wandless magic she casted on Cal before, but Cal was just a second year he wouldn't know as much about spells and dark magic unlike Gabriel.
Gabriel conjured a small vase and cork with a spell I never heard of. Then he proceeded to pull his wand up whispering something that was definitely inaudible to me.
He continued to talk in the quiet voice, a couple of seconds later Y/N's mum was trapped in a bubble. Cal seemed to stir a bit as this happened. Gabriel pulled the bubble towards him and directed it towards the small jar-like object in his hand. Quickly the cork was added before the spirit could escape. Gabriel quickly whispered a sealing spell making sure she was trapped for good.
Gabriel turned to Y/N and I. "You two are up way too late, and Diggory why are you even in here?" Gabriel asked us, Before I could respond he interupted me. "It doesn't matter 10 points taken for being to loud past curfew but 5 given for letting someone know about the incident." The couple minutes of silence following were a tad awkward for me.
"How did you know about who she was?" Y/N asked suddenly.
Gabriel let out a light chuckle before answering "Things, events, around here spread like wild fire, especially when one of Hogwarts first years actually become cursed, it's pretty rare for that to happen. Now both of you in bed now it's already 2 in the morning."
