A whirring sound woke me up and I blinked into the sunlight, slightly illuminating the room. My look flew over to Stella's bed, but she was still gone. "Good morning", I whispered to my frog and sat up. "Where is Stella? Do you know?", I asked him, but of course, he didn't answer. Still in my pyjamas, I left the room, hearing Aisha from her room. "... changeling thing?", she asked Bloom and I stopped. That would explain her powers. It's not common for humans to have a fairy daughter. But maybe Aisha was wrong, and it was just a coincidence, or fate, that she had powers.

As I entered the bathroom, Terra was already there, changing. "Hey, how did you sleep?", she asked and I yawned. "Pretty okay for the first day. It was just weird to see an empty bed", I answered and Terra looked confused. While I was brushing my teeth, Aisha entered the room and sat down on the toilet. "And you are peeing in front of me, which is new. Um... Fine", Terra giggled awkwardly and I turned around. "Is that weird?", the Water Fairy asked and continued: "I'm not used to caring, Swim team and all. Were you gonna take a shower?" Terra and me disagreed and Terra noted, that she had forgotten her bra. However, Aisha pointed at one, but the Earth Fairy disagreed and explained that it was too small. "Uh, did you, uh see Stella? Because, uh, she didn't sleep in her bed last night", Terra asked, while Aisha was taking off her clothes and went into the shower. In order to not make Terra feel more uncomfortable, I went into a toilet to change. "You don't have to...", she tried to clarify, but I assured her, it was fine.

When I exited the bathroom in boyfriend jeans and a cozy pullover, I met Bloom, Musa and Stella, still in her outfit from last day. Bloom just came out of my room and was surprised about the fact, that Stella was a princess. Stella got angry at the fact that Bloom lost her ring. I sneaked into my room, from where I listened to what they were talking about. "Dowling has the creature locked up, which you would know if you were here last night when she gave us an earful", Aisha confronted her and Musa continued: "And if people knew there was a Burned One even in the First World temporarily, disaster." Her voice was calm, but what she said was true. These monsters were from our world, therefore are we the ones who have to fight them. If the humans would get attacked by them, they wouldn't know what it is and it would end up in a barbaric war. "I didn't tell her that I lost the ring, and I'm sure if we do, then...", Bloom warned and Stella interrupted her. "We will do no such thing. I will figure it out after class, but for now, no one says anything to anyone." She walked toward our room and stopped in the doorframe. "And can someone make sure, that Terra knows that? She can never keep her mouth shut." Just in that moment, she came out of the bathroom and nodded: "Got it."

After we had grabbed breakfast, we were on out way to the Stone Circle at which we had our first lesson. Stella wasn't coming, she "did that crap last year already". Musa was walking next to me, and I felt her look. "Why are you nervous?", she asked calmly and I caught her pink violet eyes. "It's just that I'm scared that I won't do it. My power is... complicated", I answered and noticed a shiver in my voice. The Mind Fairy seemed confused. "Did you never train before? We grew up in magic families and got confronted with it when I was really young. So, I had to deal with it." She was right, I had already trained, so I told her. "Of course, I did, but I feel like it's not enough ", I shrugged and Musa smiled. "You can never learn everything, there is no end", she sighed. A few moment later, we entered the Stone Circle and sat down on the cold stones. In my body I felt an exciting feeling, as if I could beat everything and yet, I was unsure if I really could.

Out of the forest, silencing the students, Miss Dowling stepped, behind her a girl in a blue dress. "Teacher's pet", I heard Aisha whisper and giggled. "Welcome to Alfea and your first lesson", the headmistress spoke. "I hope you had a good first day yesterday, because now school and studying starts again. In our first lesson, at this Stone Circle, we will find out your powers and how well you can control them." She walked around the stone platform in the middle. "Magic lives in the very fabric of nature. And here in our circle of stone, it's magnified. The Vessel tests your ability to channel that magic." The dirty bronze bowl on top of the platform seemed to be the Vessel. "Later, you may learn to connect with other elements, but your first year is all about the element you were born with. Earth. Soil, sand, rock, and all manner of plant life. Water. The lakes and oceans of the world, or the molecules that exist in all organisms around us. The mind. Thoughts, memories, dreams. Air. Speed, temperature, sound. Its power and electrical properties. Light. The power to create beacons of light and deception. Fire. Heat doesn't affect you, but you affect it. Weather. Sun, rain, storm, the element which is around us all the time." A murmur went through the crowd as she said "Weather", so it truly seemed to be a rarity to be a Weather Fairy. However, Ms Dowling continued: "Whatever your element, the emotions underlying it are the same for all fairies." After her speech, the students were called one by one to show their powers. Terra let a small ivy plant grown, Aisha made a beautiful spiral out of water and Musa generated a bubble out of her thoughts. Now it was my turn. Slowly I got up from the stones and thanked Musa for wishing me good luck. When I stood in front of the Vessel, filled with crystals, I looked at Ms Dowling, who nodded at me. Nervous, I put my hands on the edge of the bowl and looked into it. Ok, what should I create? Rain, sun, storm? Sun should it be, I learned that yesterday with Stella. But it's not as impressive as rain or storm. No, I would have to be angry, and now I'm nervous. I had no idea, what a nervous feeling would create and I looked around. A group of fairies started to whisper and laugh silently. Good, I got angry at them and focused back on the bowl. A small fog appeared in front of me and it grew into a dark cloud. Suddenly there was a growling and it exploded into millions of raindrops, who fell into the bowl. The students around me shut up and Miss Dowling nodded satisfied. When I walked back, I still felt a dark fog covering me, but it slowly disappeared as I felt the pride of my friends.
