Dear Diary,

I wish I was the President's daughter. Every time the President makes a speech, she's always standing by, wearing a new dress, each one as elegant as the next. She's practically the princess of the United States. I wish I could live in the palace and have servants to wait on me and get me anything I want.

I'm eleven now, and my cousin told me not to worry about being chosen, it's a very small chance, but still I'm worried that I'll be picked as tribute in the next Hunger Games. It would be an honor, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to do it. Not as brave as our President. This year's the 25th Annual Hunger Games Season and our school is having a special history week as celebration. I have to come up with a presentation on my favorite victor ever. I already know who I will do mine on. I'll do it on the first girl to ever win the Hunger Games.

Anyways, I have to go now. Supper's almost ready and my mum is calling me.

Yours forever,

   Mia Woodcutter
