The Blind One.

A day off.

Toph's POV--
It was a Saturday morning and today I just felt like taking a day off from work. I'm sure the people here can handle themselves for a day or so. I was going to meet up with meathead, or as everyone else knows him as Sokka. He's my best friend since, well FOREVER! It would be nice to meet up with him and just hang out. As I'm walking out the door I hear a car coming towards me and it seemed to be driving real fast. "Just great..." I say under my breath and turn around. I hear some screams all around me, and since I'm not wearing my uniform I don't have a wire to bend at them so it was time for some old fashioned earth bending. I run out in front of the car and move my arms to bend a wall of earth in front of the car. I hear a mix of clapping and screams because of the crash. I hear one of the other police men run up to me. "I'm sorry we are late Chief Beifong! It won't happen again." The man said to me in a panic. "Don't worry about it just get the people of of the car." I mumble and cover my face. "I wonder why they were so late, not just the police man but the whole team?!" I thought to myself.

Minutes later I walk into the police satiation and hear my name being called out. "Toph! I'm sorry I didn't know there was crime out at the moment and I just showing the men some moves and--" I stopped Aang mid sentence. "Hey twinkle toes just watch the clock next time. Okay?" I looked at Aang seriously. "Yes of course and could you stop calling me that." I laugh and walk away. "Hey wait" "Aang grabs my arm. "Why aren't you in your uniform?" Aang said as he let go. "Well I'm taking a break, just for today though since people can't make it without me." I say sarcastically. "Oh c'mon the people of Republic City can make it without you Toph." I turn around and hear Katara say to me. "It's good to see you Toph." As she runs to me and gives me a big hug. "Oh hey Katara." I say calmly just when I was gonna push her off. "Have you guys seen Sokka lately I need to tell you something and I would like my brother to be here." She says with joy. "Actually I just saw Sokka with the other councilmen"
About 30 minutes later all three of us walking up to the doors Katara runs up to Sokka and pulls him away with papers flying everywhere. "Hey what the-" Sokka says with a panic. "Shh be quiet we're going to my house, I need to tell you all something important."
