#Mom.. please, make it stop, it is not funny, I don't want to anymore.... Noooo!#
I wake up, in terror, my whole body is covered in cold sweat, my breath is faltering and my heart pulse is loud and fast. It only was a nightmare but it seemed so real... A thrill gets through my whole body. I sit up in my bed, Lurcher still sleeps serenely. The soft sunlight, shining through the light green filmy curtains, soothe me a little. It must be early in the morning, I look on my phone, 8AM. I decide to get up already and I immediately walk towards the bathroom to take a quick warm shower to wash off all the cold sweat.
Suddenly the bathroom door opens, my Granny walks in. "Granny! Don't walk in like that, I am showering!" I shout out while grabbing a towel to hide my body with it.
"Oh come on, don't be such a child, it's not the first time I've seen you naked, also you already showered enough last night, don't you think?" she says rolling her eyes. "Now come downstairs to grab breakfast, your friend Barbara just arrived."
"Yes, I'll come, now get out please" I say while pushing her out of the bathroom. I prepare myself in a hurry and go downstairs, to the kitchen. When I open the kitchen door Barbara runs towards me, to hug me.
"How are you feeling today?" she asks.
"fine, and you?" I answer. She takes a short look at me before answering, then she says
"I'm feeling great. I had a good night of sleep, your granny made pancakes for the break fast, come and sit down." There is a kitchen bar. I sit down on it, grab a pancake and maple syrup. I savour my First Bite, these pancakes sure are delicious. I am grateful that Barbara leaves me eating my breakfast in peace without asking any questions. When I finished eating, we walked towards my room.
"So... how come, you are here this early in the morning?" I ask her.
"I have my free day today, and tomorrow i only start work at noon." She answers.
"You work on a saturday?" I ask her, surprised.
"Of course why not? I am responsible for the store when the boss isn't there." She tells me.
Passing through the ballroom, Barbara suddenly asks me "Do you think you are still able to play the piano?". I look at her startled.
"Me? You're joking right?" she laughs and says
"No I'm not, you have played piano and violin for years" I stay silent. "Oh come on, just try it, it wouldn't hurt". I sigh and walk towards the piano, sit down on the stool. As soon as I start thinking about what I could play, I remember that I don't know any pieces at all. Not even the melody of one single piece comes up to my mind. I sigh again, look at Barbara and nod my head.
"Sorry, I can't even remember a melody which I could play, this won't work". Saying that, a weird pressing feeling gets to me. I start having a lump in my throat. Will I ever be able to do things again that I used to be able to do? Will I ever remember things about my past? I hold back the tears beginning to come up and swallow one time to be able to stay strong. Then I stand up and give Barbara a sign to walk further towards my room.
Once in my room, Barbara immediately jumps on my bed and lays down. "I love your room" I force a smile on my face and answer.
"I can see that". Looking at me hanging with her head upside down out of my bed she asks "Can you remember some more than yesterday?" I nod my head sorrowfully. "Then, did you find something out except for that you are blond from origin?". I laugh shortly and say.
"Yes I found out that I am fucking rich, it was a shock to find out, couldn't you at least have told me that?".
"I could, but you didn't ask anything about your home, just about our friendship, your parents and your grandma" she says.
