sometimes I wonder what

would happen if I could fall

asleep and not wake up.

would they miss me?

would they care?

no, they wouldn't.

because I am just a single

blade of grass surrounded

by a thousand others just

like me.

and no one would pay a bit

of attention to the small,

shriveled up piece of grass

surrounded by a field

of living pieces

who know their life's worth.
