Stuck Inbetween

Chapter 2

I held my head in the air and asked "About?" Jake smiled at me and grabbed my hand.

"So, its been a year. I miss you." He said and ran a hand through his spiky brown hair. Jake was amazing. His hair went down to his eyes, which were a beautiful shade of green. He was tall and muscular, too. How could a girl like me, get a guy like him? I smiled, but quickly wiped it off with a frown.

I decided not to say anything. Just walk off I told myself. I made it a total of 2 feet when I was pulled back. I tripped, but Jake caught me in his arms and pulled me to his chest .

"Come on. Eat lunch with me at least? Maybe we can start over?" He looked dwon at me with big puppy dog eyes. Before I knew it, I was hugging him. I didn't mean to. I just miss his smell, his arms around me, his breathing. Him being there. Slowly his arms wrapped around me to and I quickly let go realizing what I'd done.

"Sorry." I mumbled and ran off. I had to get there before school started.

"See you at lunch!" He called back. I smiled.

First period was terrible. All I did was  sit there and think about Jake.

"Serenity?" I looked up and saw Mr Johnson staring at me.

"Hmm?"

"What is the value of Pi?" He asked.

"Um..What kind of Pie, sir? Pecan? Pumkin?" The class laughed. What was so funny? Mr. Johnson rolled his eyes and asked someone else the same question

"Three point one four, sir" I knew that disgusting voice, Milly. Yuck. The rest of the classes were boring, I had Dylan in a one, Wes in one, and Tristan in one. They all noticed my absent-mindness. Sadly, Jake were in none of my classes...so far. "Ring-a-Ling!"

 "LUNCH!" I yelled in class..I ran out before the teacher could object.

Oh, Shoot. I didn't know where the cafeteria was. In my rush, I ran into some guy.

"Oh, Snap! I'm so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going!"

"S'okay. I'm Michell." He held out his hand.

"Serenity." I reached out and grabbed his hand. "Nice to meet you."

"Hey, You um, wanna eat lunch with me and my guys?" Random. I wanted to, but I shook my head, No. This guy was pretty cute. He had Sandy blonde hair, a natural tan, and bright blue eyes.

"Sorry, I can't. Uh..If I see you tommorow..Ask me, Kay?" He nodded his head in agreement. I Started walked off when, "Hey, wait! Where's the cafeteria?" I asked.

"Oh, Follow me." So I did. We got to the  cafeteria and i imediately spotted Jake. Great. Here I was, hoping he would take me back, after all this time and there he was talking to some girl. I walked up behind him, without him seeing.

"No. I can't. Please go." I heard him say.

"I just found the girl I love again and you want to take it away?

"But--"

"No buts." She stormed off and I walked up to him like everything was normal. 

"Hello.." I started to ask him who that was but thought better of it.

"Oh! Serenity.." Wow. He didn't seem very excited to see me..""Lets go get some lunch!" He pulled me towards the line.

"Uhhm...I brought one.." I said holding up my brown sack lunch. He said nothing just smiled and grabbed my hand. 

"Hey, Serenity!" I heard my name and and turned around to see Mitchel heading my way.

"You know him??" Jake said through gritted teeth.
