Runaway

Soft sobs filled the bedroom where the three siblings laid on the only female's bed, all cuddling around the youngest child's sobbing form.

"Yumi!" The youngest sobbed, but was quickly hushed by the eldest child, "Shouto, we have to be quiet" Touya rubbed his brother's back straining his ears to hear for their father's footsteps; and to his relief, he didn't hear them.

"Guys?" The middle child's head popped into the room, the rest of him quickly following afterwards. "Father's in his room, if you're leaving, it's going to have to be now" Natsuo stated, "I'll stay behind to distract Mom".

"But-" Fuyumi started, keeping her voice low. "I'll be going to Jessa's house tonight anyways" Natsuo gave his siblings once last glance, "I love you all" then he left out of the room, in the direction of the living room.

Fuyumi and Touya gave each other a glance before the eldest son stood up. "I'll get the bags" He said, dashing, as quietly as possible, to grab Shouto and Fuyumi's bags. Fuyumi bit her lip, running her nails against her younger brother's scalp, reducing his sobs to light hiccups.

Touya returned moments later, two duffle bags in each of his hands. "This is now, or never" Touya said.

"Shouto, we're going to be leaving now" Fuyumi stated, adjusting her hold on him, carrying him out the first story window. Fuyumi landed gently onto the grass below, Touya handed her Shouto's bag before climbing out with his and hers.

With one last glance to the home, one that they spent their entire lives in, they were off into the trees.

Shouto had fallen asleep in his sister's arms rather quickly, the previous panic attack sucking all of his energy out.

Eventually, they arrived at a clearing, two figures could be spotted clearly, standing next to a large green van.

"Toga, Magne" Touya greeted them, which they greeted them back. "Aw, he's so cute!" Toga gushed, referring to the youngest son. "Tomura has medicine for the burns, he had us make sure to pick up enough" Mage informed them.

With a single nod, Touya helped Fuyumi get into the van, Magne putting the bags into the van. Magne and Toga took the front seats while Touya sat with his siblings.

"This is it, huh?" Fuyumi sighed, looking into her older brother's eyes. "No more Dad" Touya smirked, "No more Enji, no more abuse" Fuyumi smiled lightly. "Shouto isn't being used as a human weapon" Fuyumi noted.

"He'll be safe" Toga piped in front the front seat.

Touya and Fuyumi locked eyes once more, smiling at the thought of having the chance to start life over.
