Sunday ~ 4:45 AM

Gabe wakes me up. "Hey get your stuff."

"Ugh What time is it?"

"Doesn't matter let's go."

I rub my eyes. "Why?"

He raises his voice. "Its not safe."

"What do y..."

Gabe yells. "Just come on!"

I force myself out of the bed. "Fine I'm coming."

I struggle to get my clothes on since I'm half asleep but nevertheless, I succeed. We head out of the almost empty room and sneak down the hall. A reasonable explanation would be nice, however this probably isn't the time to be asking questions. Though I do have one good question.

I whisper. "Can't you just zap us out?"

"No, they can track us when I do that."

What does he mean "they"? He said the other angels were good, maybe he isn't talking about them. Demons could be a possibility, but even if they were we would still be safer here. Gabe does know alot more about this stuff so arguing would be futile. We sneak around until we finally find the exit.

"HEY!" A unknown voice yells.

"Shit!" Gabe pulls me outside. "Umm just hang on tight." He wraps his arms around me and I do the same.

Gabe's wings tear through the back of his suit. Ugh Fuck me. Woosh, with one flap of his feathery wings we fly into the air. It all becomes clear once I'm high enough. We are in heaven. Clear water lakes, ponds, the greenest grass ever, and a giant church sits in the middle of all of it. Clouds wrap all the way around the landmass.

My eyes open wide. "Wow, we were in that?"

Gabe smiles. "Yep, it sure is beautiful." His smile quickly dissipates into a serious face. "There's only one way out of here, and that's to fall." "So hold on tight."

"Wait! Have you done this before?"

"N...no but we should be fine... I think."

"You thin..."

Immediately Gabe stops flapping his wings. I hug him tightly as we descend into the cloud cover below. Wind beats across my cheeks. Water vapor drenches my body. A bright light fills my vision.

Shortly after, I open my eyes. We lay on the ground below in a small cornfield.

I rub my eyes. "Gabe?"

"I'm alright." He vomits.

I chuckle. "You sure?"

"Yep." Gabe stands up. "We need to move they'll be on our trail."

I cross my arm. "No."

"What do you mean "no"?"

"I want answers."

He throws his hands up. "Fine, you want to know so badly" "They killed your parents!"

I begin to sob. "Wha...why?"

Gabe calms down and sighs. "Because it was the only way to get you to come to heaven."

My face snarls up. "Hold on, did you know about this?"

"No... listen, when you turned 18 I was up in heaven making arrangements." "They took this as a opportunity to smite your parents with no resistance." "I heard your cries and immediatly came to help, but it was already to late."

Overwhelmed by emotions, I hug Gabe. Stuffing my face into his chest. "I'm sorry."

He pulls me in tight and rests his face on my head. "Don't apologize, I may have not been able to protect your parents, but I'll sure as hell keep you safe."

I look up at him. "Promise?"

He caresses my cheek and wipes my tears away. "I promise."

My cheeks blush red and a giggle slips out of my mouth. "We should probably get going."

Gabe stops staring at my face. "Huh... oh yea." "I know somebody who might be able to help." The sun creeps over the horizon. "Looks like flying is out of the question."

I point to the road and smile. "Guess we'll have to be normal people for a little bit."

We along the side of the road for hours before a women picks us up. "So where yall headed?"

Gabe responds. "Virginia."

She playfully smacks his chest. "Well handsome your in luck cause I'm headed that way."

He frowns at her. "Are you..
flirting?"

I hide my face from the cringe radiating off of Gabe right now. "Why would you ask that?"

She interrupts. "Oh that's okay honey, I like em big and dumb." She winks at Gabe.

I do get a little jealous until thankfully Gabriel says he's not interested. I'm not sure why I got jealous. Admitting that he's attractive isn't hard but admitting that I'm in love with him is going to be a little more difficult. Well, alot more. Anyways, after a half days ride, we make it to Virginia.

"This your stop honey?" She winks.

I stop Gabe from answer and hurry him out of the car. "Yep, thanks bye." I look over at him. "This is the place right?"

He grins. "Yea."

The large mansion that stands before us is three stories high. A locked black iron gate blocks our way. Luckily, Gabe takes no effort to push it open and we walk up to the door. He knocks. Footsteps approach the door before hesitantly opening it, revealing a small man.

"Oh wow, Gabriel." "It's been a while come inside." Gabe tells the man everything and he contemplates something for a while. "Okay, I'll help you but it wasn't me helped you, okay?

We nod. He snaps his finger and a Mark burns into my arm. "That'll prevent them from tracking you." The man hands us a key and address. "Go there, it has everything you need."

Gabe grabs the man up, bear hugging him. "Thank you so much."

He rolls his eyes. "Yea yea, just keep your prophet safe."

I interject. "Wait before we leave, what's your name?"

"Adam... now go!"
