Draco was in a strop with Sage as they were sitting eating dinner in the great hall, giving her one word answers every time she would try and speak to him. "Ok what is your problem man" Blaise scoffed as he took in Malfoy's expression.
"Nothing" he huffed, "right" pansy rolled her eyes before she went back to making sex eyes at Marcus Flint who was sat at the end of the table reciprocating. "Fine you wanna know what my problem is?" Draco snapped.
"Well yeah that's kind of what we've been asking you" Sage scoffed as she folded her arms, her food now cold and forgotten. "That you snuck out last night without telling any of us-"
"Actually she told m-" Pansy begun but was cut off.
"Shut it Pansy, she went without telling any- ok most of us just to be with Weaselby and then she got caught and now she's got a fucking detention every day" Draco scowled. Sage laughed.
"What the fuck is so funny" he spat. "You" Sage wheezed. "What the fuck does any of that have to do with you? Why has it got your dick in a knot, if anything I should be the one that's mad" Sage scoffed.
"Because... because now I- fuck it's just that I needed your help with my homework" Malfoy grumbled. "Well I can work on that with you all morning and afternoon" Sage furrowed her eyebrows at his shit excuse. "Well i've got other places to be at that time" Draco mumbled.
"What? Like with mystery girl" Sage rolled her eyes. "Yes actually" he smirked. "In that case get her to help with your homework" Sage smiled condescendingly, causing Malfoy's smug expression to drop.
"Hey Pierce" Fred said as he sauntered over to the Slytherin table behind Malfoy. "We better get to detention" he said. "Right, yeah. I'll see you guys later" Sage smiled as she walked away with Fred. "Try making it a little less obvious mate" Blaise chuckled. "I don't know what you're on about" Malfoy grumbled.
"And then she completely fell for it and slipped over" Fred laughed, causing Sage to wipe her eyes to free them of the stray tears as she hunched over in laughter. "How could she fall for that?" She said as she regained her composure. "And they say she's the brightest witch of our age" Sage smirked.
"Sometimes you don't have to have common sense to be clever" Fred chuckled, before silencing himself as they reached the library. "Weasley and Pierce?" Madam Pince raised her eyebrows as they walked over to her. "Yes ma'am" Fred smiled.
"Right, follow me" she grumbled, clearly wishing she could be spending her time doing something other than helping the punishment of two troublesome teens. "This is the aisle you will be working on Mr Weasley and this one for you Ms Pierce" The librarian explained, pointing to two aisles that were beside each other.
"You will be sorting the books alphabetically where students have not done so" she sighed as she eyed the messy shelves. "Oh and no magic" she added, causing Sage to roll her eyes. "So pass me your wands please" she said as she held out her bony hand.
"Why? don't you trust us?" Sage smirked as she plucked her wand out of her pocket and placed it in her hand with more force than needed. "No" she said. Fred bit back a laugh as he handed his wand over. "Very well, get working" Pince said before leaving them to it and returning to her book at her desk.
"This should be fun" Sage sighed as she ran her fingers over the books, some dusty and some still warm from the previous student that had handled it. "Don't worry love, we'll have some fun once we've made our way to the hidden aisles" Fred winked. "Somehow I know you're not joking" Sage shook her head.
A few moments had passed of silence between the two, their hands busy with rearranging the books when Sage's boredom overtook her. She smirked to herself as she looked over at Fred to see him with his eyebrow furrowed, a small book in his hand that he was trying to find a home for.
