As I stumbled up the cold concrete stairs, the music from the party below me faded to almost nothing. I had no idea which way I was going, my intoxicated limp body trailed up the stairs toward the fairy lights that faintly hung in the distance.
As I reached closer to the top, I begun to hear a gentle strumming of a guitar and my head pricked up and payed close attention. The delicate plucking played out a sweet tune I'd heard before but I couldn't quite place it in my memory.
I started to pace up the last few steps a tiny bit faster then before, swinging left and right in my dazed state. My fingertips curled around the corner of the door that was left slightly open. The window that was on the door revealed a patio on the roof filled with greenery and twinkling fairy lights, just slightly dimmer than the stars that dusted the night sky above.
I blinked slowly and rubbed my eyes and my eyes focused on the blonde haired boy that was sat on the bench, guitar in his arms, strumming along to the familiar tune. He started to hum a faint tune and the dimple on his left cheek showed as his plump lips turned up into a tiny smile. Chan.
I tried to be as stealthy as I could be. However, due to my drunk appearance, he noticed. He quickly stopped his strumming and stood up in confusion. "Y/n?" he asked quietly, almost a whisper. I thought I saw tears brim in his eyes but my mind pushed the thought away.
"...H-hey," I stuttered, my words slurring into one another. "I didn't know you'd be up here... I just heard the music and I-" Before I could continue with my ludicrous sentences, he was suddenly right in front of me and placed his bare arm onto my shoulder gently.
"Y/n, you're drunk. Come sit, hm?" He gestured toward the bench that was in front of us. I slowly slumped down and he sat himself down next to me before picking up the guitar once again.
"Play me something, Channie." I giggled, looking up at him through my eyelashes. He smiled down at me, his curly blonde hair brushing over his eyebrows and his dimple showing once again.
"You never call me Channie," he questioned in his usual joking manner. I smiled up at him and breathed deeply, not wanting to reply just yet.
"How come you're not downstairs?" I asked him slowly, fidgeting with the hem of my shirt. "All your friends are down there."
He sighed before quickly taking my hands into his, almost surrounding them completely with the sheer size of them. "I wanted to be by myself," he quietly said.
I suddenly took my hands back and stood up slowly, "oh... I didn't know, I'm sorry-" I begin before he joined me, standing up, and took me into his arms tightly. "You wanted to be alone... I'll go. It's fine..." I murmur, practically to myself it was so quiet.
"No. Stay." Chan mumbled into my hair before giving it a quick kiss, that I barely felt, and sitting us both down on the bench again, this time closer to each other. He looked away from me sheepishly and picked up the guitar again before strumming it. I sighed and placed my head into the crook in his shoulder, repeating my request for him to play something.
To my surprise, I felt him nod as he started to hum and strum and I noticed it was the familiar tune he was playing as I arrived. Once again, he gave me a gentle kiss on the top of my head before beginning to sing, "You look so wonderful in your dress," his honey voice begins the lullaby. "I love your hair like that."
I turned to look up at the night sky as he continued the song, the stars in the night sky looking down on Chan and I, as if there was nobody else in the world, except us.
I turned to look at him over my shoulder and the stars sparkled in his big brown eyes as they bored into mine. Just at that moment, "should this be the last thing that I see," he smiles down at me with pure love in his eyes as he serenades me. "I want you to know that its enough for me," I sigh, my heart rate about to reach one million beats per second.
The overwhelming love and adoration I have for Chan takes over me once more as I quickly stretch up from my slump and my lips crash into his. I kiss him slowly and he kisses me back, slightly in awe of my sudden proposition mid song.
He puts the old guitar down and pulls me closer, taking me into his arms. We look up at the sky together before he says, "choose one. Choose us a star, y/n."
