Chapter 11 - Hospital

I woke up, hearing a steady bleeping sound. "Ergh" I groaned, my head throbbing. I opened my eyes slowly trying to make sense of my surroundings. Quickly realising I was in the hospital, I sat up.

There on the chair beside my bed was Kayla, slumped awkwardly against the wall fast asleep. "Kayla" I whispered my voice horse. "Kayla" I tried again.

She stirred, "good you're awake!" She exclaimed happily, "I'll go get the nurse" she said as she left the room.

After a few minutes she arrived back with a nurse, "Good morning Miss Cashell" she said smiling. After quickly checking my vitals, she left to get my release papers.

As soon as she left I asked Kayla the question that I'd been dying to ask since I woke up, "where is Miles?"

"Urgh," Kayla replied "he helped me get you here, but once we got to the door he said he couldn't go any further, he told me to tell you to call him when you get out and that he's sorry."

"Oh" I replied.
"I'm sorry I tried to get him to stay, but he said he had to go" she said sounding defeated.
"Don't worry about it" I forced a smile.

The nurse arrived back with my release papers, "you need an adult to sign this," she said "then you're free to go, I'll come back in a bit to check on you but, feel free to get changed back into your clothes.

"Thank you" Kayla and I said simultaneously. She smiled and left.

"Have you called my parents?" I asked.
"Yeah" she answered "I told them you had bashed your head but you were gonna be alright, they were at business meeting and said they'd be back today."

"Typical" I said rolling my eyes. I picked up my phone, calling my mum so she could come and sign me out. After a brief conversation with my mum I relayed what she said to Kayla "She said she be with us in 10 minutes and she'll give us a lift home."

Kayla left the room to get a cup of coffee, while I got changed.

20 minutes later we were out of the hospital and on our way back to drop Kayla off then back to my house.

As soon as I got home, I was sent to bed rest by my mum. My phone was dead so I plugged it into charge, so I could call Miles.

my mum shouted up the stairs to say she was going back to work and that she and dad would be back by 9pm at the latest.

My phone finally had enough charge so I called Miles.
Ring ring, ring ring, ring ring
"Come on pick up" I said aloud,
"Hello" I heard Miles say gruffly.

"Hi... Umm Kayla said you said I should call you when I got out of the, you know, hospital" I said hurriedly.

"Belle" Miles conformed.

"Yeah" I felt my self blushing.

"Are you... okay?" He questioned.

"Umm yeah" I replied feeling awkward.

"Can we meet up?" He asked hesitantly.

"My parents are out, you could come round mine If you want." I suggest.

"Sure" replied Miles. "I'll be with you in 30 minutes okay?"

"Yeah, bye."

"See ya soon Belle."

I ended the call, then dragged myself out of bed and through the shower. then dressed and applied some mascara before curling back up into bed.

I decided to close my eyes while I waited for Miles to arrive.
