Crystal's dog Becky runs up barking happily. "Sit!" She commands. Becky sits. "Good, now lay!" Crystal commands. Becky lays. "Now stay!" She says starting to walking way. And Becky stays. Crystal smiles and walks down to the beach. "Where are my parents?" She asks herself walking a safe distance away from the water. Crystal has always hated water but today she was drawn to it. The sparkly waves growing higher and higher then crashing. She looked out at the surfers surfing the waves and she images herself out there on the surfboard the wind in her hair the water splashing her face, and it's just her, the board, and the water it feels free, it feels right. Then all of a sudden she is out there! She's wearing a purple bikini and her brown hair is put up in a ponytail. "Ahh!" Crystal screams. Then she looks at the wave and somehow she's relaxed. "Maybe Mom was right...," She pauses. "Maybe there is magic here." A huge wave is forming far back and coming in big and strong! The surfers are looking eager and excited. Except Crystal. She looks scared and nervous. A surfer paddles over to her and says,"Hey, you ever surfed before?" Crystal looks at the surfer, she's a female around eleven years old. She has black hair and blue eyes that sparkle in the sun and she's really tan. "No," She replies to the girl. "Me either!" The girl says. "Well it looks like we're both about to be able to say the we've surfed before!" Crystal says as the wave comes further in until it's at them. The older surfers ride the wave like it's a piece of cake. Then there's Crystal and the unknown girl. They both get pummeled it's dragging them under and pushing them back to shore. "Ugh... That was awful," Crystal says pulling herself up off the beach. The girl does the same. "I'm Crystal by the way." The girls smiles and says,"I'm Cathleen! But you can call me Lee." "Nice to meet you!" Crystal smiles. "You t-" Cathleen starts. "Hold that thought!" Crystal interrupts. She runs over to something laying on the beach about ten feet away. It's stuck in seaweed, netting, and fishermen's line.
