2020 [ghosts]
⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒ ⭒i was both glad and upset that i hadn't gone with the guys to the hollywood ghost club. glad because i didn't have to feel those painful shocks but upset because i had to watch the people i care most about, including my boyfriend, in pain.
i had died with the guys in 1995 after my boyfriend, reggie, had convinced me to go and get street dogs with them, not that i blame him for my death! no way!

it had been a day since willie had told us about crossing over. i wanted nothing more for the boys to complete their unfinished business and put an end to their pain but i had no idea what my unfinished business was. i was never a part of sunset curve, i was just the bass player's girlfriend. i also didn't want to convince the boys to join caleb's club, i knew it was the last thing they wanted and the idea made me feel uneasy too.
"so we play the orpheum and we cross over! sounds good!" luke exclaimed.
"how are we going to do that exactly?" alex asked sighing as he we stood in the studio.
"don't worry, i have a plan," luke grinned.
"the last time you 'had a plan' we died so how can we trust you?" alex remarked.
luke decided to ignore alex's comment and explain his plan.
"hey! are you even listening? we need all ghost hands on deck!" luke called at me. i hadn't even realised i'd spaced out. i was thinking about what i was going to do after the guys crossed over. i would most likely stay with julie, we'd become pretty close and she would need me as much as i would need her after the guys go.
i didn't know life without reggie. it's like i didn't exist until he came into my life in 1994. he gave me life, he is my life.
i hadn't realised a tear had escaped from my eye until i felt reggie's thumb wiping it away. alex and luke realised my mood and poofed out of the room.reggie led the two of us over to the couch and gave me a soft look.
"baby. what's wrong?" he whispered.
"i... i can't lose you reg," i choked out.
"what are you talking about? we're going to cross over!"
"yeah you're going to cross over. you, alex and luke. not me. i was never a part of sunset curve. i was never meant to play the orpheum. i don't even know what my unfinished business is. i'm going to lose you," i was sobbing at this point and reggie pulled me close.
"i'm so sorry. i didn't even think, which is pretty normal for me... that's not the point. i'm sure we'll find a way baby," he held me to his chest and stroked my hair until my breathing had calmed.• • • • • • • • • • • • • •
i was stood in the crowd of the orpheum, not that anyone other than julie could see me. it felt like old times, before i was dead times, when i would stand in the crowd of sunset curve's shows and annoy all of their other fans. i giggled at the thought. i had left with julie to help her get ready and calm her nerves and so i had no idea if the guys had even made it.
soon enough, the guys were appearing on stage. alex was first. the reggie poofed on stage and immediately found me in the crowd, blowing me a kiss making my giggle. then, luke began to flicker, that couldn't be a good sign. i silently prayed that he would gather the strength to fully appear when i heard his voice making me jump up and down out of excitement.
the performance was incredible! as the guys vanished from the stage and the crowd gasped i realised, they were gone.• • • • • • • • • • • • • •
i was waiting for julie, we'd decided we would both go into the studio together to say thank you and goodbye properly.
we entered the studio when julie arrived and she began to speak.
"i know i already say this, but thank you guys," she spoke. i knew she had been preparing the right words to say for a few days now but she couldn't continue as a voice broke through the silence.
"you're welcome,"
"dude!"
"reggie?" i asked.
julie switched on the light and there they were, laying in pain on the floor of the studio.
"what are you doing here i thought you crossed over!" julie cried just as another shock hit the guys.
"no!" i sobbed.
"i guess playing the orpheum wasn't out unfinished business,"
"point caleb,"
"we wanted you to think we crossed over so we pretended to, we just.. we had nowhere else to go," luke cried out.
"we thought you'd go straight to bed," reggie whimpered as i made my way to his side. i sat next to him and he placed his head in my lap allowing me to play with his hair, calming him as much as possible.
"we'll i knew they'd come out here but no one ever listens to m-" alex was cut off when another shock hit the guys making more tears fall down my checks.
"you guys need to join calebs club! it's better than not existing at all,"
"do it for us," i added quietly, so quiet that i think only reggie heard.
"we're not going back there," reggie cried as he reached for my hand.
"no music is worth making, julie, if we're not making it with you. no regrets," luke spoke before he and julie shared a hug.
i gasped in realisation.
"julie! how are you touching him?"
"i- i don't know?"
"i feel stronger!" luke grinned.
"alex, reggie come here," julie said as the two boys pulled themselves from their positions and made their way to julie before being pulled into her embrace.
i made my way over and watched as caleb's stamp was removed from the boys' wrists."what does this mean?"
"i think the bands back," luke laughed.
reggie turned to me suddenly.
"i know this is probably a bad time but ... marry me?" he blurted out leaving me stunned. i heard gasps from the boys and a small 'awh' escape from julie's lips.
"can ghosts even get married?" i asked.
"oh.. i- i don't know but we- we can try?" reggie said now unsure of his choice to pop the question.
"yes," i said as calmly as i could.
"what?"
"yes. yes, i will marry you reggie," i smiled as his lips crashed to mine. his arms wrapped around my waist and he lifted me to spin me around before placing my feet back on the floor pressing his forehead to mine as we giggled.
"i love you, i can't believe i almost lost you," i whispered.
"you can't get rid of me that easily baby," reggie said before placing a kiss to my nose, "and i love you too, so much,""that was the cutest thing i've ever seen in my whole life! time to get ghost-wedding planning! i hope i get to be a bridesmaid and wear a gorgeous dress and pick beautiful flowers and-" julie trailed off as she left the studio making all of us laugh.
