It was so dark...

So cold...

Where was everyone?

Did they even survive getting back to the island..?

Squinting his eyes, Midas rolls onto his side and sits up, putting a hand on his head. He's tried processing what's going on and stands up.

"Where am I this time? My head? Hell?" He asks himself, looking around.

"Jules? Soph?" He calls out, praying for someone, anyone, to respond to his shout.

But nothing came...

His vision starts to fade away, and before he loses consciousness in his mind...

He could've sworn he saw someone very familiar to him, reaching out their hand...

"Midas? Are you alright?"

Sophie grabs his hand, helping him stand up.

"I'm... I'm fine." He responds finding himself back in his normal work clothes. "Just a little shook is all."

Dusting of the sand and purple crystals, he looks around at the place where the Agency once stood. The island was gone, and in its place was a sandy desert like area, crystals sticking out of the ground. And looking up towards the moonlit sky, the Zero Point was exposed, seemingly cracking or worse...

Destabilising, fast.

The ambiance alone is unsettling enough.

"Well...we did it...but we lost the one place we once had as a base of operation as well..." Jules sighs, kicking her feet in the sand. "Although to be fair, it was yours Midas..."

He sighs, putting his arm on her shoulder.

"It was just a little island." He solemnly chuckles. "Besides, after the war, it wasn't of any use anymore."

"Unless you count Shadow Midas when Chaos Agent captured your mind...but we don't talk about that." Sophie buts in, before ducking out as Midas glares at her for mentioning Chaos. "S-Sorry..."

"Anyway, it seems like the rest of our agents have already disbanded. What shall we do now?" He asks, turning to his sister.

Jules thinks for a moment, before realising something she promised herself to do ages ago.

"I'll tell you what we're doing."

As Jules picks up the boost driving the motorboat, the island of Apollo begins to gradually decrease in size as they sail away.

"But Jules...I don't know if I'm ready to face her again." Midas mutters, clutching his hands and keeping them to himself.

His anxiety was beginning to sink in, and he was afraid of turning something or someone to gold uncontrollably. Sophie decided to tag along for support, but it'll also give her an opportunity to meet Midas' mother.

"Hey, don't worry. Maybe she'll understand." She comforts him, placing a soft hand on his knee. "Besides, from what you've told me, she sounds like a lovely person."

"Kid I ran away from home for 14 years because of what I did." He reminds her. "I have every right to be absolutely terrified out of my mind about seeing her again."

Gold begins to rise from his wrists and his breathing becomes more intense.

"She probably despises me and regrets having me, a freak, for a son..!"
