AFTER THE MOMENT THE TWO SHARED A MOMENT AGO THEY DIDNT TALK. It was a comfortable silence.

Again they weren't sure where their feet were taking them, but they knew they'd follow.

The sound of crickets flew through their ears yet it wasn't as nice as the music from the restaurant. In the silence their footsteps played in their mind.

Todoroki moved is hertonormic eyes to see the older girl next to him. She was yet again playing with the necklace on her neck.

The small heart travelled between her fingers, gliding smoothly. The light reflected off of it leaving gold light on y/n's face.

How he wanted to hold her close again like in the parking lot. Not until that moment did Todoroki realize she smelled like vanilla.

As they danced together, he could smell her hair and it smelled like vanilla.

He could only think peppermint and vanilla is a perfect mix.

Indeed it was.

Todoroki knew he shouldn't be feeling these feelings but he couldn't help it. This girl was running away from her home to who knows where.

He wouldn't see her again after this, and yet he let his heart beat whenever she said that name.

The name he heard over a million times that night and it never had gotten old. He only wanted to hear the name come from her mouth.

Hear her sweet voice let out that one word that had no meaning to other people, yet it meant the world to him.

Todoroki was brought out of his thoughts when he heard y/n's running feet. They sounded lighter the farther away she got.

He lifted his head to see they entered a skate park.

It was just like the streets they roamed on... it was dark. Not that he minded.

All round there were left over bikes and skate boards from the day before. A sudden realization hit him when he realized y/n wasn't with him.

Todoroki started to panic when he lost sight of the girl. His breath picked up and his hands became sweaty. Where could she have gon-

"Hey peppermint... over here~!"

He heard her voice yell from the side. He looked over to see her sitting at the edge of a bowl. Her feet dangled from the edge as she propped herself up with her hands.

With her head y/n motion for him to sit next to her. She wanted to be close with him again, she felt comfort in in it.

Todoroki did the same as she did and copied the way she sat. He ran a hand through it hair and looked next to him.

y/n was already lookin at him with her e/c eyes staring into his. Her expression was relaxed as she did so. "Y'know my mom used to take me here..."

His brows furrowed together slightly. "I didn't know you skated?" Todoroki stated.

She gave him the most beautiful belly laugh he'd ever heard. "No way! I sucked at it," y/n wiped a small tear from her eye. "But I didn't mean I didn't try."

"Was your mother kind?" He asked in a small voice. He wanted to shrink into the ground from the question.

Her head nodded before answering. "She was kind and cool. Her friends told me I act just like her when she was a teen."

Todoroki smiled slightly. "What else did you do with her?"

y/n was ready to explode with her feeling then and there. She wanted to tell this person, who she trust most in the world, all about her mom.

But there was only so much time.

"Sometimes she would take me to this shrine. It's kinda far away but so worth it. We'd make wishes there and only tell each other...

She really was the best mom ever." She looked down to her lap. Not in a sad way, but in a reminiscent way. The memories flooded her mind.

It was a wave of emotions she loved to feel since her mother's death.

A hand made it's way to hers. A large one at that. She knew exactly who it belonged to, y/n curled her fingered around his and sat staring at it.

His hand was significantly larger than hers, but they complimented each other. It was nice.

The sun would rise soon snd the two would have to say goodbye, something they were dreading to do.

For their very few hours left they had to enjoy their time together, because in the end they had to separate.

For y/n this town was too close to home for her to stay, so if her dad was looking for her he'd definitely find her.

Leaving town was a big deal while she was on her own, but she wasn't scared.

It was something she's wanted to do forever. For her health and safety she had to leave.

If she could only get passed the shrine her mother had taken her t-

"Wait!"

The loud voice caught Todoroki off guard and he immediately thought something was wrong. "Are you ok? Are you hurt?!" His heart slowly down when he saw the smile on her face, then started up again.

"We can go to the shrine before the sun rises and watch it there!" y/n said getting up from her spot.

The teen boy only stared at her. "I'm sorry... what?"
