Soooo... here's a continued part where they talk. Sorry it took so long. Votes and Constructive criticism are both very much appreciated!
The next morning Ava woke up before Sara. She looked over to Sara's sleeping form and smiled. Sara's face was tear stained from the night before but somehow it just made her look more beautiful. Her eyes were red rimmed and mascara was dried onto her cheeks, but it didn't look ugly, just real. Ava had to remember that just because Sara might hold herself with confidence, and was almost always smiling, didn't mean that she wasn't battling her own demons. In fact she was almost positive that Sara had more demons living in her mind, then in hell itself.Neither of them went to work that day, Ava threatening that she would personally restrain Sara if she even tried to get up. ( To which Sara replied "kinky" making Ava roll her eyes).
They lay in the bed for most of the morning, sometimes talking, sometimes just being comforted by just the presence of the other. Ava had just finished up telling Sara about how Gary had once managed to get a roll of glow in the dark duct tape stuck on his leg when Sara mentally decided to approach the subject of yesterday's breakdown.
"Hey Aves?" She said but it came out hoarse and too quiet to be heard.
"And you should of seen the look on his face when- "
"Aves?" She repeated a little bit louder.
"And then we had to-yeah babe?"
"Not that I'm not completely interested in what happened after or even how Gary managed this new feat but I was wondering about yesterday". Sara chuckled through watery eyes.
"You don't have to talk about that yet if you don't want to yet babe".
"Yeah but I think I'm ready". Sara rolled over to look at Ava. "Can I ask you something?"
"Of course, shoot babe".
"Why did you come looking for me yesterday?"
Ava frowned and sat up slightly so she was leaning against the headboard. "Well, I noticed you were missing from the Waverider and they said they hadn't seen you since before the mission so logically, I got worried." She said like the answer was obvious.
"But you came here first. Yes?"
"Yesssss?" Ava confirmed, drawing out the end of the word in a confused tone. "I don't get it, babe?" she continued when instead of explaining, she was met with Sara looking at her questioningly.
"Why didn't you check Paris first? Or ask Gideon?"
Ava, confused about where this conversation was going, half answered, half teased, " Well I guess I just assumed because the anachronism hadn't gotten significantly worse, that you hadn't tried to-"
She was cut off by the pillow that came flying her way even before she finished the sentence.
"Jerk," Sara stated.
"You love it though".
"Hmmmm, it's possible".
Ava laughed before settling back into a serious tone.
"Honestly, I was worried about you Sara. You were off this morning and you have been all week".
Sara sighed and rolled back over on her back so that she was staring at the ceiling.
"I know, I've just been thinking." She looked over Ava who met her eyes and gave her an encouraging look. She let out a heavy sigh before continuing. "It's just been hard ya know? Losing Ollie made me realize that I had gotten used to people not dying for a while. I had finally adjusted to the fact that maybe I could be happy and life wasn't always shitty. But then fucking Lex Luthor had to take things into his own hands."
