I never thought I would be attending a party

thanks to the university's provided transport card the train wasn't too expensive, and we got to sit in the quiet car, I tucked my bag into the pocket under my seat unzipping my winter coat, and loosening my scarf I was preparing for a hour long train ride to the seaside city. "so are you excited e-" Fuji. we are in the quiet car I'm gonna sleep a bit" I cut him off. the train started to pull out of the station and the subtle rocking of the train car carried me into a slumber.

time passes and eventually I was shaken awake by Fukoshi I didn't dream, I haven't had a dream in years, and I didn't sleep well either in the train carriage seat. But it allowed the time to pass quickly. Fujisawa station is just a small platform exposed to the elements, the pure snow is pushed back on the platform and cleared out of the why of the stairs. the sun threat was previously exposed during the day had retreated to behind the overcasting clouds. I pull my scarf tighter around my neck as the winter breeze picks up. I watch Fuko exhale deeply and watch his breath swirl away into the air. " do you think we will be able to catch the final train home?" I ask to Fuko. " most likely, we can always leave before then" Fuko reply assuringly.

it's very rare for college students to have a party in a dorm here, I doubt that there will be half as many people as an American party. that thought somewhat settles my nerves, and I take note of surroundings in my head just in case I need to leave. the beach was to our left and the breeze picks up over the water. "are we almost there?" I ask freezing my ass off. "should be up one more street and to the right"  Fuko responded through his chattering teeth.  We reached the college campus, and I ended up buying a can of coffee at a vending machine outside to help me stay awake. the campus was small and provided on campus living for all their students. you could tell where the party was at if you just followed the small crowds. I continued to follow Fuko and down my coffee, by the time we reached the door I had already finished the can and barely feeling it.

loosening my scarf Fuko opens the door for me, pop music was playing the lights were changing colors frequently and to the bass of the music. This must've been a really expensive dorm, basically being an apartment with two floors. There wasn't too many people as expected but definitely a large enough amount of people to fill the downstairs room. i look to my right to see if Fuko was there and he was already gone and amongst the people. i hung my coat up on the coat rack by the door and tried my best to blend in with the crowd grabbing a dink in the small, but modern and sleek kitchen. everyone seemed to already be in there social groups. the first floor was somewhat crowded and the bad ventilation in the room was starting to make my sweatshirt feel like a sauna suit, i was slowly regretting not opting for the thin long sleeve shirt.

I navigated myself up the stairs and to the overlook balcony over the first floor. the cold black metal railing started to make its presence known against my forearms as I leaned against it. looking over the railing i try to spot Fuko, but he's nowhere to be found. From up here i could see the small social bubbles that had formed, and I chuckle to myself realizing the only person who wasn't in a bubble themselves was me, alone, on the balcony, watching people be happy. But once again I was corrected as I recoil back, startled, as a cold hand moved my hair in front of my ear aside. a Women was stood in front of me. "nice, you didn't skimp out on the jewelry" she remarks. it took me a second to realize with her hair up but it was the girl who had been downtown that kept distracting me, and I finally understood why. the nice clothes, the done up hair. It was the poster idol Mei Hajime. "Yea, they were a gift from my sister" I reply delayed. "why cover something so beautiful ?" she questions me. "I'd get expelled, its against the school rules" why was I telling her this, she randomly caught a peek at my ear and then just randomly touched them. "anyways, why is an idol coming to look at my ears" I question her as I return to the over look railing. "it's not everyday someone hosts a dorm party, and its even more rare to see someone like you by themselves, everyone here knows me, everyone here treat me the exact same, I thought I would come and say hi" she pauses and move to the railing. I don't reply I was distracted by the water. the beach, it was far out from the sky light window. " cat got your tongue? I know its scary to be talking one-on-one with an idol but you can just talk to me like a normal person" I still don't reply her words weren't as noticeable as the ocean I haven't been to a beach since I was in elementary school, and I was flashing in and out of reality. remembering my father teaching me how to skim board while my mom hid her sensitive skin under an umbrella. once again I had been caught in my own world. but Mei shook me out. "hey what are you looking at" she inquires, as a tear rolls out of my left eye, my blind side to her. I point to the water outside. trying to protect my weaker side from her. " want to go?" she asks. and I couldn't have nodded any faster. she grabbed my arm and quickly got me out of the dorm. i wrapped my scarf around my neck and forgot to grab my coat, but she seemed to lead the way, pressing the elevator button on G and not letting her smile drop since
