Chapter 3. Hormones Get the Best Of Rose.
“So, How have you and Niall been?” Rose casually mentioned.
“What do you mean?” I answered pushing around the green beans into a triangular shape on my plate, not wanting to look up.
“Have you guys talked since the break up, or even hung out at all?” She nudged my side trying to get a giggle out of me, but that wasn’t going to happen. This was a touchy subject for me, I practically walked away from my perfect boyfriend just because of some secret. I felt like an idiot, a bloody freaking idiot. Everything just seemed to play over and over inside my head, like a record forever playing the same portion of the song. I held back the tears and made an effort to answer her.
“We’ve talked a few times, but nothing major.” I finally plopped a bean inside my mouth.
“You guys are going to see each other tomorrow, you know that right?” Harry spoke up, he pulled back his chair and went to get some more mash potatoes.
“I know.” I said flatly.
“He hasn’t stopped talking about you either Sarah. I doubt its even over.” He told me after a mouth full of food.
“It’s kind of hard to rekindle our relationship after its been this long, and I’m going to see him for the first time since the breakup. Cinderella’s fairy godmother isn’t going to just wave her wand around and say the special words for us to just magically fall back into love again Harold, its not how it works.” I stated nor rude nor nice.
He just shrugged his shoulders and began filling his mouth full of food once more. I looked back to Rose.
“Well, I think you guys should at least call each other or something. Because the last thing you want is to act like middle school children, running around avoiding each other. Have you even called him since?” She looked at me in disbelief, I could tell by the sound of her voice she was getting irritated.
“Well…, not exactly. Its tough Rose. We’ve only texted each other a hand full of times and they weren’t really conversations. Just casual things.” I stared back at my plate, this time swirling around my mashed potatoes.
“That’s it, your going to call him. I want this shower to be fun, not full of your relationship drama okay Sarah?” She glared at me.
“Uh….Sorry Rose.” Was all I could get out, I was stunned by her rudeness.
“Rose!” Harry shouted. “Their’s no need to be rude about it or even think that.” He set his fork down and glared at her. I just looked back and forth between the two, wondering what to do. It was an awkward position to be in.
“Harry this means a lot to me! I really don’t want it to be filled with drama!” She yelled right back.
“Why are you acting like this Rosaline? I’m sick and tired of all the bullshit you keep getting mad about lately, its so frustrating! Please stop!” he shouted getting up from the table. Right then Rose busted into tears, full out sobs.
