"Good morning Zayn." Zayn's mum chirped softly as she opened the curtains and let the sunlight hit Zayn's sleeping face. "Time to get up, Zayn." He groaned in response to the bright sun.

"Up, up, up!" Zayn's mum clapped as she she repeated the word.

"Saturday. No school." The tanned skin boy moaned.

"Tutoring." His mum simply replied with a smile.

While finishing off his toast Zayn heard the honking of a school bus. He grabbed his backpack, kissed his mum on the cheek and headed for the front door.

When stepping inside the bus he noticed a familiar face, Selena. Well, of course she was going to be here, she's little Miss. Sunshine, who just loved to help everybody.

Zayn took a seat in the back and drowned out the noises of the world by putting his headphones on.

"Okay let's try this again," Zayn sighed in irritation. "Which of these are similar triangles?" He asked the boy next to him, who in fact seemed as if he couldn't care less about this shit.

The boy didn't respond, instead he huffed and continued to stare at the wall in front of him.

"Well, which triangles look similar, what do you think?"

"I think this is bullshit!" The boy got up from his seat and slamming the door behind him when exiting.

"That makes two of us." Zayn mumbled to himself.

After what seemed like forever, it was finally time to go home, the bus was here, and Zayn sighed in relief once he heard the honk of the bus.

He took a seat near the back of the bus and muted the world around him by turning the music up on his iPod.

Selena looked at the irritated boy that was sitting behind her, and there was something about him that she just couldn't ignore..she could tell that he was a good kid at heart, all he needed was a bit of faith.

Selena couldn't help but feel like maybe, just maybe, she could help Zayn. But help him with what exactly? She didn't quite know the answer to that, but she knew that all he needed was someone to steer him into the right path. I mean sure, he had a reputation of being a thoughtless, carefree, dare-devil, but their was some good in everybody, wasn't there?

With that thought Selena got up from her seat and took the empty seat next to Zayn.

"Hey, wanna buy some raffle tickets?" She asked in a cheerful voice.

Zayn didn't even acknowledge her presence or her existence, for that matter.

"I'm trying to raise more money to help our high school get some new computers." She informed him with a smile, even though she knew he wasn't interested.

"No." He simply replied, she smiled and looked at the ground.

Zayn turned his attention to the window, looking outside. Selena could feel the awkward tension that was in the air, but she wasn't going to give up that easily.

"So I saw you in there with Michael." She spoke again, looking at him. "And I know it can be very difficult..but maybe you should find another way to teach him, find something that will stimulate him to learn."

Again, Zayn didn't respond.

"Are you going to go visit Niall Horan?" Selena asked.

Again, Zayn didn't respond.

"That would be a 'no.'" Selena told herself. "You do know that they moved him from the hospital and put him into a rehab place?"

"Is this your idea of small talk?" Zayn finally spoke, the irritation was clear in his tone. "Because if it is, you're social skills need some work." He paused and the tone in his voice grew harsher, "and no one forced him to jump."

"It's called peer pressure." Selena informed seeming completely unphased by Zayn's frustration.

"And how do you know about that, read it in some book?" Zayn asked looking down at the bible on Selena's lap.

"Please don't pretend like you know me, you don't know me at all." Selena said firmly.

"But I do, I do. We've been to the same school, same classes since kindergarten." Zayn paused. "Why, you're Selena Gomez. You sit at the lunch table at the back of the cafeteria, which isn't exactly the reject table but it's definitely self-exile territory." Zayn paused again.

"You like to wear sweaters, you look at your feet when you walk." He thought for a minute, "oh, and yeah, you like to tutor on the weekends and like to hang out with the 'cool kids' from the Stars and Planets convention." Zayn looked over at Selena properly.

"So how's that sound?" He asked her.

"Fairly predictable; nothing I haven't heard before." Selena shrugged her shoulder.

"You don't care what people think about you?" Zayn asked.

"No."

Selena got up and walked back to her original seat.

Zayn returned to listening to his headphones, this time without any interruptions.
