chapter 21

addison pov
we went into the kitchen and ashley introduced herself to the others. dixie and griffin soon came back with the food, all of us eating and talking to each other. ashley seemed pretty nice and we all got along well.

after we had eaten, i went up to bryce's room whilst everyone else got ready for the movie so that i could change into some comfier clothes. as i was about to change, i heard a knock at the door, opening it to see bryce. "you okay?" he asked me.. "yeah i'm just gonna change, i'll be down in a few minutes."

i threw on some sweats and a hoodie and then went downstairs to see bryce and ashley sitting next to each other at the end of one of the couches, leaving no space for me to sit with bryce. it did annoy me but i wasn't going to make a big deal about it, so i just sat by dixie, who was on another couch with griffin.

"are you okay?" dixie whispered to me.. "yeah i'm fine." i lied.

bryce pov
when addison came down, i saw her look over at me but she sat by dixie instead. i was laying down on one of the end corners of the couch but i made sure to leave enough space for her. i don't know why she didn't sit by me.. did she not think there was enough space or was it because ashley was on the other side?

i got up and walked over to addison, taking her outside of the room so we could talk real quick. i asked her why she didn't sit by me.. "where bryce? where was i gonna sit?" "i left room for you" i told her as she pulled me in for a hug. "i'm sorry, i just-" i cut her off by kissing her.. "baby it's fine, don't apologise" i said as we walked back in.

ashley pov
bryce and i were sitting on one of the couches and i smirked to myself as i saw addison sit by dixie. but bryce then got up, leaving me to go to addison.. why couldn't he just leave her with dixie and stay with me? i was so much better than her anyway.

they left the room for a few minutes and when they came back, bryce laid next to me with addison laying on the other side of him. in the corner of my eye i kept seeing them cuddling.. that was supposed to be me.

bryce pov
during the second movie of the night, i wrapped my arms around addison as she fell asleep on my chest. i soon saw ashley begin to drift off in the corner of my eye and she kept getting closer to me, so i slightly moved away, causing addison to wake up. she looked up at me before burying her face into my hoodie and putting her arms around me. i rubbed her back as she fell asleep again.

jaden, mads, josh and nessa had already gone up to bed, dixie and griffin soon doing the same, leaving just myself, addison and ashley. i gently shook ashley's arm, waking her up and telling her that she was welcome to spend the night in one of the guest rooms. "can you show me where the room is?" ashley asked me, me telling her i would. i left addison sleeping as i would be back in a few minutes after taking ashley to her room.

"so how have you been?" ashley asked me, leading to a long conversation between us. we sat on the bed as we spoke about pretty much everything.. it was nice to catch up with her after so long. ashley told me about how she went through a pretty rough breakup.. "ending that relationship made me realise how much i love you. i've never been happier than when we were together" she said, making me feel kind of uncomfortable. i then told her about how well addison and i were doing to remind her that i was in a happy and healthy relationship. yeah i was happy with ashley, but addison makes me happier.. nobody compares to her.

addison pov
i woke up to an empty room.. even bryce was gone. i figured that he had probably gone up to bed, which was surprising because he would usually take me with him. i went up to his room and he wasn't there. i trusted bryce so i just got into bed, not wanting to overthink things that i knew weren't the case.

i woke up about an hour later to the gentle feeling of a soft kiss on my temple. i gave bryce a small smile as i slightly opened my eyes. he walked to the other side of the bed, getting in and wrapping his arms around me as i rolled myself over to be in his embrace.

"where were you?" i asked him.. "i was talking to ashley for a bit, i showed her where her room was and we just ended up catching each other up on everything" he whispered back. "oh okay, goodnight" i said.. "i love you, goodnight."

ashley pov
after eating breakfast i said bye to everyone. unfortunately my plan of wanting to show bryce that we were meant to be didn't work, but he seems happy with addison and i guess that's all that matters.

heyyy, sorry for not updating in a while. i wasn't feeling up to writing last week with everything going on between addison and bryce, but it seems like things are much better now :) i don't know how often i'll be able to update but i'll try to do it as much as possible.. also this story will probably be coming to an end very soon and thank you for 9k reads i love you all !!
