One Helluva Time

Chapter 21- The Purge

~~Elliot POV~~

I woke up with Loona in my arms like normal, but this wasn't going to be like any other night. For tonight was the 10th annual Purge. Honestly, I haven't payed that much attention to the Purge, like ever. The tradition has just been I hang out with James, Levi, Abby, and Donnie until all calms down. Although for some reason I felt as though tonight would be... different somehow, at least from my normal Purge experience. After a minute or two Loona opened her eyes and yawned.

Elliot: "Mornin' beautiful."

She blushed a bit and playfully punched me in the shoulder.

Loona: "Stop it."

I sat up, stretched a little bit, and started my routine. While I was brushing my teeth my phone started ringing, Loona answered for me.

Loona: "Hello? Elliot's busy right now."

I heard faint speaking from my phone, Loona nodded a bit.

Loona: "Okay, yeah, I'll let him know. Bye-bye."

I leaned over and spit in the sink.

Elliot: "Who was it?"

Loona: "Donnie, he said that y'all are still doin the tradition tonight. And James is gonna try and convince William to come along."

Elliot: "Oh sweet."

Loona had a very worried look on her face, it's pretty easy to read her when her ears are drooping.

Elliot: "What's the matter?"

Loona: "I just feel like this is a bad idea, I mean it's the Purge. Let's just stay home ok? I don't want you to get hurt."

Elliot: "I'll be perfectly fine. My friends and I have done this countless times before."

She seemed to be relieved, or at least not as worried at this.

Loona: "Okay, just promise me you'll be safe."

Elliot: "Always am."

We walk into the living room and started to hang out. I was leaving for Levi's at about 13:00, just because I hate being late. Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie said they'd be staying home tonight, just hanging out in their rooms. While Loona would be visiting some of our mutual friends in Hell, mainly Tex's girl. After a couple hours, I started getting ready. Tonight I was with my normal gear, Ol' Reliable and my combat knife. Before I left I ran downstairs and grabbed an H&K Mark 23. I handed it to Loona.

Elliot: "I want you to be safe too, alright?"

Loona: "I will be, I promise."

I said my goodbyes and walked on out. In only 9 or 10 minutes I was at Levi's front door. Donnie was the first to greet me.

Donnie: "Ah, you sonofabitch. I knew you wouldn't miss it!"

Elliot: "What? Did you think I would?"

James walked over eating a bag of chips, not crisps because is America bitches.
