SHE promised her mother she was going to bring peace to this world.
"Eren..." Emilia had never seen this side of him. After he ate Willy Tybur he turned his attention to the civilians and began the killing.
When she first met him he was just a little kid with the goal to wipe out all the titans because his mother was eaten by one. Then his enemy became the traitors, the titan shifters who were threatening to end humanity. She understood his thinking, it was simple and justifiable. The sight in front of her was different though: he looked like he was destroying for the sake of destroying. Is this vengeance reasonable anymore?
She was pulled out of her trance by the sound of the Warhammer Titan transforming. The Raid on Liberio was officially starting.
Before the Warhammer could transform completely, Eren was already on top of her, smashing her face in with hardened fists. Emilia wasn't of much help now, she only had her pistol on her. She was waiting for Sasha and Connie to bring the equipment.
Commander Magath and his squad were still on the rooftop watching as Eren was impaled by the Warhammer's ability. These idiotic privileged geezers were cheering.
"Tch." She was told to stay on standby till Sasha arrived. She had nothing to use to attack or defend herself apart from the gear and a pistol — it was going to do nothing to titans and she would be severely outnumbered by the soldiers. Her heart rate was picking up and her breathing became erratic. This wasn't a good time for her anxiety to come back.
It looked like the Warhammer was going to finish Eren off with a hammer as he came out of his titan form.
"Usurper, Eren Jeager. Do you have any last words?"
A black figure came out of the shadows and flew past her head. It was Mikasa, she planted the thunder spears in her nape. The counterattack was beginning, Jean and the rest bombarded the Marleyan soldiers on the roofs.
It was her fault, she wasn't courageous enough to stand up to the Church members. Her mother died because of her.
The Warhammer Titan stood up again. Emilia's anxiety doubled. She couldn't see Sasha or Connie anywhere.
Against Eren, she had a big advantage because she could make any weapon with her hardening that his own hardening wouldn't be able to hold up against. But this was only going to apply if Eren wasn't able to figure out where her body was. Emilia noticed immediately that she transformed starting from her feet, it was different from any other titan shifters. This meant that her real body was somewhere near them.
