Chasing Stars

Two.

I tried to imagine what my dad looked like now. My memory of him was at a faint line. The only real thing I remember is that he called me Starlet. He took me into the background one night after my fourth birthday and we laid out in the grass staring at the stars. He told me there were billions beyond imagine. I remember asking him how they all fit in the sky and he told me that not only was the sky on earth filled with thhhem but so was space. We sat there for hours gazing upon the stars that filled our universe.

I tilted my head back and closed my eyes taking deep breaths. 'You can do this Scarlet' i thought to myself. Its just two months, theymll fly by and i'll be back here. Daddy wants to see is little girl; oh i'll give him his little girl. I went into my room and pulled my suitcase from under my bed. I walked to my closet and began throwing clothes and shoes in the bag. I grabbed all my lady products and threw them in. I zipped it shut and placed it by my bedroom door. I reached for my phone on my bed and dialed my friend Isaac's number. He picked up on the second ring.

"Scar, you haven't called me since the last day of school, where have you been!?"

"Sorry love, can you come over?"

"Be there in 10" he sang.

The line disconnected. I put my headphones in and put my music on blast. I closed my eyes bobbing my head to the music. I went through about five songs before my ankle was gripped up and my body was pulled off the bed onto the floor. I let out a scream before having my mouthcovered by a laughing Isaac.

"I hate you so much"i told him.

"Aw your so cute when your mad"

I kicked him in the shin sending him to his knees.

"Jesus Scar--" he cried.

"Dont scare me ever again"

"But you-"

I lifted my fist to punch him.

"Okay! Okay!" He begged.

I began to tell Isaac all about how mom was sending me with dad for the summer.

"Thats insane, what about what you want?"

"Exactly!" I screeched.

"Id probably run away"

"I dont have mcu of a choice anymore, not that I ever did..."

"Well thats sucks..."

"Mhm"

"On the bright side, there's a lot of beaches and places to go to"

"Yeah that's true but i don't think i'll enjoy them much with him"

"Hey maybe it'll make up for lost years, anyway I have to go. Promised my mom i'd be back before dinner. Call me when you land okay?"

"Okay."

I was left in my silent room. It wasn't long before i fell into a deep sleep.
