It was the last light of the day and Evangeline sat at her large window sill doing needle point as her mother had scolded her just moments before to finish. She sighed finishing a rose and looked out her window at her small garden just outside her window.
It wasn't fair why should she have to sit and practice these skills to impress her betrothed when he hardly paid attention to her at all. In fact he scarily even wanted her to speak.

*flashback*
" Enough of this endless blabbering, don't you know to speak when spoken to?" Charles snapped at her as they took a afternoon walk though the garden. She was only trying to explain the flowers he had pointed out weren't peonies at all and where in fact marigolds. She did grow then herself after all. Her mother who was chaperoning only gave her a silent but deadly sharp look. Evangeline stayed quite and looked down continuing their stroll and not daring to fight further.
*End flashback*

Her stomach turned thinking about what her future was to become with the "great" Charles Montgomery the second. Yeah great big ass, she thought. Charles was the oldest son of one the wealthiest businessman in England, successor of Montgomery exports. All the women wanted him and all the mothers wanted their daughters to marry him and preserve their wealthy lifestyles. Yet no amount of money could buy him a personality more interesting than a door stopper. He wasn't that awful to look at to be honest. Charles was a tall firm-built man with golden hair, emerald green eyes and a smile that could make hearts melt along with the deep dimples he had on each side. It was only after he starts speaking you realize he's extremely quick to anger, abusive, boring and overall nothing more than a pretty face with money.

Out of all the eligible women he had to choose her. It couldn't be all bad..in her society a woman had no other motive but to marry and make sure she married good. Sure he was horrible in every way but at least she would have a seemingly good life right? Wrong. She pricked her finger and puffed in anger looking down at her needle point. How could she be happy when her dreams were far from what was to come. She wanted adventure not needle point. Not to sit next to a man and be his possession that was good for nothing more than looking pretty and quietly agreeing with everything her husband had to say. She wanted love, real passionate love not something arranged by her mother. "Husband" Her blood boiled even more at the thought of it and with that she flung open her windows throwing the stupid needle point into the night.

"Ouch!" Yelled a voice in the darkness.

She quickly peered out the window not seeing much but the faint light of a lantern past her short garden wall.

" I'm so sorry sir, are you hurt ? I can't see you very well." She yelled out the window.

There was a sound of rustling and what sounded like muffled voices of men quietly arguing. Then the voice spoke again this time trying to impersonate a woman's voice but humorously failing.

"Everything's just peachy! Go back to your womanly things as we women do." The voice cracked on the last part causing Evangeline to stifle a laugh. Confused and curious she started to try to go out the window and help. Perhaps the man was embarrassed she thought.

"Don't worry I'll come and help you-"
"No!"Boomed the voice so loud it woke the neighbors dogs. They began to bark alarming the other dogs in the neighborhood.

"Smee you idiot! Anyway now men!" Yelled another voice and suddenly the sounds of lanterns shattering was heard. They smashed their lanterns along the neighborhood setting fire to many things along the way. Evangeline standing in her garden looked out at the once dark cold night seeing it now completely ablaze. The pirates ran through homes quickly gathering as much as they could before they had to leave for the ship. People ran from their home and some even ran though her garden in order to find safety. A man carrying a large bag of goods ran through and knocked her to the ground as he jumped into her home from the open window.

On the ground she was shocked and too terrified to move. She heard slow steps approaching and when she turned her head inches from her face where two shiny black leather boots. She didn't need to get up to see the owners face as the man bent over her holding a lit torch. Their faces inches apart as The flame illuminated his face revealing a man with pale blue eyes. She gasped scared of what might happen but also because of how entranced she felt when he looked at her. The man had an unreadable expression at first as he studied her face. A slight smirk began to play on his lips and it seemed as though his eyes sparkled.

" Far to fair to be laying on the dirty ground, rather you be lying on a dirty ship" his deep voice announced as he quickly disposed of the torch picking her up and spinning her around holding her back to his chest in one swift movement. Both facing the window she watched as her mother ran into the her bedroom screaming with another pirate close behind. Capitan hook placed his revolver up to her head as Evangeline's mother approached the window yelling for her daughter to be released.

" Ah ah" he tisked. " Has she given you everything" he spoke to the pirate beside her mother.
"Yes Cap'n all here." He replied.

"Please take me with you" Evangeline spoke quiet enough for Captain Hook to hear and become taken aback.

"What's this, you'd leave this life?" He looked up at the large white mansion. Her home looked to be as large as his ship.

"I dream of it, you said so yourself I'd be much better on a dirty ship. Please...Captain" She pleaded turning her face to look up into his eyes.

He gulped and became a bit flustered he had not seriously thought of the comment he had made earlier. And he never imagined she'd turn it around on him, asking him to join the crew was she crazy. Although he was starting to think he was the crazy one for actually considering it. If she follows the rules she might be useful around the ship. She is a much better sight that the other crewmen, that's for sure. And when she looked up at him with those pleading eyes how could he say no.

"Since you asked so sweetly-" he shot straight ahead towards her mother.

It went over her head but that was enough to cause her to drop to the ground and cower. Just enough time time for them escape and run towards the ship. He could not carry her over his shoulder as she was still in her gown from earlier and it was far to large. Her entire outfit was slowing her down and Evangeline's heart raced trying not to be left behind. She ripped off the top layer of her skirt as Captain Hook turned back towards her noticing her slow pace. He extended his hand out and she took it without hesitation running together towards the ship. As he pulled her along her metal hairpin began to loosen dropping to the ground with a clink.

Her long dark brown hair flew behind her. Her hair was flowing freely in the wind. Free...she was finally free.
