This update is about one of my friends. It really highlights how what you read influences what you write, or the stories you come up with.

Now I won't name my friend but let's call her Juno.

Juno and I have very different writing styles.

The not-so-coincidental thing is that we read very different books. Juno has recently read 'Eat, Pray, Love' (by Elizabeth Gilbert) a good book that I hope to read. But the writing in that is so so soooooo different from the books I read e.g. 'The Young Elites' (by Marie Lu) or basically any teen fiction. To me that writing is much more formal and sophisticated. It uses ingenious metaphors and beautifully aesthetic sentences to describe feelings and situations.

While the books I read are generally more in the fantasy genre, and I tend to create stories with complex plots and action scenes, with very little time spent on feelings. So yeah, I feel like that was kinda all I wanted to say.

Side note, I kind of do get jealous that I don't write like that.

But I'm sure there's thousands of different styles out there.

I'd love it if you told me about yours.
